There's something I don't understand. After the defeat of Empire of Power, Grub became the founder. But how's that possible? Surely Grub didn't create the region?
By the way, Empire of Power Reborn has been defeated by The Republic of Landkford.

I wasn't around at that time, but I'd think the organisation Empire of Power withered and died out at some point, making the region CTE after which Grub probably refounded it.
For another example of this, look at the region DEN, which got refounded by someone not very fond of DEN.

Perhaps all the nations moved out or CTE'd and Grub was the only one left (after defeating them), making him the founder. I seriously think he should give us the password and make it a holiday destination, like pay 1000 tacos for a trip to EoP.

I got a question: I've been scanning through the forums, just going through every thread because I'm a bit bored. Then I came by the Senate Offices and I stumbled into the "Co9 Statutes and Resolutions, 2004-2007" thread. In Resolution 2006-003, it mentions the Assembly of Nations. What exactly is that?

Hey there, I have a cquestion concerning gameplay, looking if there is someone who can help me.
Lettgalia is not my first nation. I founded my first nation about two years ago. After NS2 came out and was a hard disappointment to me (and also for personal reasons), I turned my back on Nationstates. But I got interested again two months ago and founded Lettgalia. Now, I'm a dedicated NS-player again, also because I was invited to XKI by Ananke II. Two weaks ago, I wondered why I did not yet restore my old nation. Unfortunately, I don't know the password I used. I always keep hidden lists of passwords I use on the internet in safe hiding places (furthermore, the passwords are coded/transliterated in a special key I "invented"), but my old NS-password is not on the list. I've tried out passwords I remembered and found in those lists that I used around that time, but nothing worked. But I still would like to restore my old nation just to play around and experiment a little with a non-WA-nation. Unfortunately, sending my password to the e-mail adress I used at that time doesn't work either.
Does anybody of you know a solution for this problem or is the only way to solve it that I suceed in finding my password for that nation? If that's the case, please help me. Otherwise, the only alternative would be to step back from refounding my old nation.

The Assembly of Nations was designed to be a sort of "lower house" of the Senate, allowing basically anyone who met the Assembly's standards to contribute and debate upon issues on the Assembly floor. It was a city-hall, open forum style organization, with no actual legal standing, but several resolutions that were proposed and debated in the Assembly of Nations were passed on to the Senate where they became law (in some form). Basically, a nation could propose a resolution to their favorite Senator and it may or may not make it to the Senate, depending on the Senator's discretion and impression of the resolution. Or, the nation could bring up their resolution in the Assembly of Nations, where it would receive a full debate and polish before being proposed to the Senate.
The Assembly is no more because several members of the Assembly apparently thought that the AoN should have actual power, equal to the Senate. This was never the intention of the creation of the Assembly, nor would it have been a good idea at all. Basically anyone could get into the Assembly, but the Senate was an elected body. No non-elected body should supersede a democratically elected body.
There was faction of the Assembly that couldn't grasp that fact, and because of their uproar, the Assembly grew inactive because people started to lose interest in being a party to something that had no legal standing. Regardless, while it stood, the Assembly of Nations served its purpose and was quite useful for weeding out weaker ideas in resolutions so the Senate didn't have to waste their time.

Eh... sweet talk a mod? It's pretty unlikely that you'll get your nation back without remembering the password.

As far I see it, this could infact be the only possibility. Since...
@Ananke II: The e-mail account I used those days is still active and in use and it is not the e-mail account I'm using for my current nation. Unfortunately, they don't send passwords of nations which ceased to exist by e-mail. When I type in the e-mail address or the e-mail address plus the name of my old nation which I would like to restore, they just state that such a nation would not exist and I receive no e-mail.
It looks as if I gotta go digging in my brain and for all the sheets I kept passwords on those days to restore it.

Ah, in that case submit a Getting Help Report, asking the mods to restore the nation, saying that you forgot the password, but still have the email. They don't usually mind doing that. After it get restored you can then get the password sent to your email.

Thanks, Ananke. I guess this is the only possibility that is left for me. I'll do some digging in my stuff here again - maybe I'll find the encoded password of my old nation and if not, I've got to proceed as described by you. In case they deny me that, I have to found a new region for my experimenting-purposes.

The FAQ says that it's possible to buy stocks in immigration. I might be tired or something but I missed it. Can you perhaps tell me where to go to look over the possibilities?
