Return of a Master[/SIZE][/color][/u]

About two weeks ago, the United Kingdom was on the verge of a general election. This election was about to witness a three term Prime Minister return to office with a landslide victory. We, today witness the return of a master, Sir Reg Empey. His skill of blowing the trumpet and amazing the crowds by his long posted campaigns for reform is what sparked the triumphant victory over the contender, Robert Peel. This term was to be no different, Mr Empey set to work with the majority of recruitment, setting a record on this today of 6000+ recruiting messages. It almost puts the work of the two and a half term Ex-Prime Minister Neisse to shame. Check back here for more news concerning his recruiting spree soon.

Moving on, the Prime Minister's first order of business was to announce a cabinet, a cabinet that was to set in motion his urgent need of reforms and to give the boom back to its name. Yes folks, you will have seen new cabinet policy, new victories and a new leaf turned in the United Kingdom by the amount of government and executive transparency, accountability and prosperity. With good news comes celebration, great news comes with the added responsibility of who's going to hold the hair and toilet pan up while the other is sick at the end of the night :lol: Without further ado, here is the Prime Minister's cabinet list;

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you, your Royal Majesty, King PASD.....again. You may remember PASD from already serving in the position of King previously, but due to an unfortunate emotional crisis within his real life and the very region he long wanted to rule with harmony, deleted himself and abdicated as King as quickly as he became it. Not long after that though, his Prince of Wales, Richard VII, was announced King, celebrated and then faltered to the abuses of admin. Not a pretty sight indeed, a little bit of suffering there, a little bit of suffering there, it was almost like an episode of ER. The controversial Monarchial Intervention was used to delete by his Ex-Royal Majesty two accounts belonging to South Boston Irishmen and Nivogal. After his forced abdication to save the incumbent Prime Minister from resigning, it was decided a court case would be brought due to his abuse of powers and his ignorance of use of what the Monarchial Intervention events caused. Not a pretty sight indeed. But you maybe wondering how PASD has returned as King? Well, our King's have the ability to name anyone anytime anywhere, back to the line of Royalty and succession and due to PASD's popularly, he was named Prince of Wales, then the quick abdication meant he was the King again, YAY!!! Hopefully this time he'll stay for a longer period of time, reigning in the glory like that of the first King and to bare the great deeds that the people demand

The Lords oppose it, Royalists oppose too much and the Commons love it....or so we thought. The House of Lords began, alongside the House of Commons last week in the effort to reform on his Royal Majesties advise the Monarchy. A long overdue process and long campaigned for by the veteran Great British Islands. The various reforms have currently passed the House of Commons, the House of Lords have still to pass in its current format the bill we have passed. Monarchy & Lord Reforms finally Pass!

After a long struggle to pass reforms regarding the Monarchy and House of Lords, the House of Commons on the 20th of July 2010 have finally jumped the hurdle for giving power back to the people. Snippets of reforms include; Removing the King's veto; Reducing both Houses to five instead of six seats; giving the popularly elected House of Commons back it's override function and most importantly, the Prime Minister is now equally involved in the Lords appointment process as the King.

What a joy to watch when we finally passed these reforms, the region celebrated and drank till it dropped

Little late, but he did!

No, i'm just kidding, for over two months now Parliament has been open since the election of Mr Empey. But i'd just like to share in this update our tradition and our many months on continuing it. Parliament is closed 3 days prier to the general elections. The Speaker and Lord Chancellor officially give word of thanks to their chambers and fellow MPs respond respectively. Thereafter parliament officially closes for one week. After the general election period, parliament is re-opened by the King's speech to the public and the naming of his new Lords (confirmed of course by a new parliamentary democratic age) by the House of Commons. Parliament is after his speech re-opened to serve the public.

Oh no NOT AGAIN! Mr Empey wins a FIFTH TERM!

The longest serving Prime Minister is back and this time you'll be wondering how he did it. With a massive landslide over his opponent Mr Empey is currently serving a two consecutive term which saw previously Mr Empey holding three spread out terms over his four year stunt within the region. Although this is a major triumph for Mr Empey, he has publicly announced he shall not be standing for re-election this term for either Parliament or the Premiership. We wish him the very best when he does step-down from active political duty.

The British Government, only one slight alteration

We witnessed in the previous term the same Government officials, we witnessed the same level's of efficiency and productivity by these members, now all that's got to be said is that we have only one slight alteration. The continued addition of a Secretary of State for Defence that completely restructured the Ministry of Defence, Mr Michael Juksereen. For over the past few weeks this man has renewed growth, purpose and energy to the office. We are prospering under his reign as Defence Secretary on the battlefield of assisting in military missions across the border. Well done that MAN!

Recently we have witnessed the international atrocity of a Porn Spammer, the United Kingdom was hut and hut badly by this attack. Fortunately an admin was on scene very quickly to deal with the numerous posts this spammer posted and removed all but one for evidence. The case is as follows;

Court Case: R v. Porn Spammer (Identified name not released within this update)

There is currently an ongoing Court case submitted by the Attorney General to pursue in charging Mr Irishmen with Treason. Last month he openly committed and admitted a very serious crime of document destruction on a forum which does not tolerate anybody deleting anything. The case is at present as follows;

Word is from the Attorney General that these cases will not be aimed for with mercy, but shall be speed rammed with absolute force to convict and punish severely to prove guilt and bring shame on these serious allegations and crimes.

September Update

The Government

Prime Minister Rachel Anumia has begun to, in her own words, "fulfil her election promises" with the creation of a Intel & Security Ministry. While the name of the new Ministry is still under major discussion with "Scotland Yard" and "MI5" seeming to be the favoured choices. But regardless of the name, the region is clearly on the up after TUK's Prime Minister is begining to show the reason the TUK public elected her with an overwhelming majority.

The Foreign Affairs office in TUK currently has received a massive boost with many new ambassadors taking on the roles as the older generation begins to take a back seat. Minister for Foreign Affairs, Robert Kennedy, stated his utter delight at the up rise in Foreign Office Activity. The Foreign Office is also pleased and delighted to announce new relationships with the New Galactic Empire, something the TUK is extremely interested in and hopes for a long lasting relationship.

Sir Reg Empey has made a return to TUK politics in a more legal role this time after a refreshing two week break from the region. Upon his return he was given the role of Attorney General and was widely understood to have pleased the TUK public with citizen saying it was an "inspired choice" by the PM Rachel Anumia. TUK's great statesmen's return to politics was greeted with a rush of praise and congratulations.

TUK's former Lord Chancellor Ebren had vacated his seat in the House of Lord this month and another Elder Statesmen of TUK was given the role to replace the great Ebren in the House of Lords by Rachel Anumia and supported by the House of Commons. This privilege was handed to Great British Islands for his outstanding work in both social and political aspects in the TUK.

The Return of the Callaway's. The Rise of the Right

Over the Last month The United Kingdom has seen the return of its former Right-wing loyalists in the Callaway Brothers. Maxwell was the first to return and made an impact within days creating a right-wing party, the Conservative Democrats, to try and differ from the vast Left Centre Wing parties that dominate TUK politics. Maxwell also made it onto the Foreign Affairs quickly becoming the Deputy Foreign Minister to Lib Dem MP, Robert Kennedy.

With the Right receiving a massive boost many believed it would becoming a TUK force yet again and then, TUK's Former Prime Minister, Carlisle Callaway returns to the region and in a very similar style to his Brother setting up a similar right wing party, the British Nationals, and has started Right Wing talks with his brothers party. The Left Wing parties have been dominating for a while now, but in TUK the right is definitely on the rise!

With this new rise in right wing politics it had led to the Callaway Brothers establishing a brand new Shadow Cabinet within the TUK. The right wing Coalition has declared that it will keep the Left Wing Government in check.

On the Rise
The United Kingdom under the Leadership of Rachel Anumia started off with a slight fall in regions but since then the TUK has begun to regain ground and has seen both an increase in regions and on forum activity welcoming new members from all around Nationstates with open arms and helping TUK remain Nationstates largest British themed region.

TUK's House of Commons have started their terms of MP's with a great rush of enthusiasm for the region and with many aims to help build on the regions already successful foundations. With new Bills such as the Marriage and Divorce Act, New Court Protocols and even a potential amendment to the constitution, it’s fair to say that the TUK House of Commons is an extremely active one.

For once it’s not Crime that’s on the rise, we don't here all too often in Real Life Britain but in TUK we have seen an extremely low amount of court cases this month and while it give our Legal eagles in the justice department a dull time it shows our great region to be a friendly and fun environment.

During this month, long time member and friend of Prime Minister Rachel Anumia, was nominated to become the new Associate Justice after TUK's former Prime Minister and legal expert Imperial Royalist vacated to become Lord Chief Justice. SBI is widely expected to excel in his new role and his the full support of the public and the movers and shakers within TUK.

The Prime Minister Rachel Anumia has decided to call an early election to end her first and last term as Prime Minister for now. Rachel has told her massive supporting public that she has been proud to be Prime Minister of the region and is pleased she has achieved so much. She is now looking to do more things in The United Kingdom outside of Ten Downing street. Her decision not to stand has been followed by massive applause of Rachel's term in office with the general view being she has been TUK's most successful and inspiring female Prime Minister of all time.

The United Kingdom Armed Forces has a new leader in it ranks as the Highness the Prince of Wales as been invited to take over as Minister of Defence until the next election. Masterson I takes over after Willem Van Ornaje has decided to leave the game, he was wished well by all of his troops. Masterson has taken over the post he has served before and bring experience and passion to the post.

The Home Ministry has also taken a new Minister into its ranks with the resignation of Harold Vorn. Maxwell Callaway has taken over as the leader of the Home Office and it is once again a position he has severed in before and brings lots of exciting ideas and new experiences, the general population of TUK have welcomed the appointment.

Prime Ministerial Elections

With Rachel Anumia not re-running for Prime Minister the race for her successor is beginning to hot up. Liberal Democrat Leader and former Deputy PM was the first to throw his hat into the flames closely followed by former Conservative Democrat Leader and Home Secretary Maxwell Callaway.

It is also expected that Maxwell's brother could join the race for the next Prime Minister, shall it be the younger brother that wins this leadership race?

By-Election victories.

Over the Last few weeks The United Kingdom public had voted and debated on the candidates for a by-election of the vacated seats left in the House of Commons through two members leaving Nationstates. There were many high quality candidates within the Race but it would emerge that the Centre-Left parties of the Liberal Democrats and the Venus party would each win a seat in the Commons.

A new member to the region, Gideon Kadath won a seat for the Venus party and TUK's legendary Prime Minister, Sir Reg Emepy returned to the political fray to win a seat for the Liberal Democrats.

Because of two Liberal Democrat members leaving the HoC, the Lib Dems now hold a majority of 1 MP, with the only other non-Lib Dem MP being from the Venus party.

King divorces Queen

This month, the King PASD separated from his wife Queen Elizabeth. The now former Queen of TUK had been very inactive due to other commitments and while the King and people still loved her, the King felt he had no choice but to separate from Elizabeth.

The King and people of TUK wished the Queen well and the King assured Elizabeth that she shall always have a place in The United Kingdom.

Early October Update

New Prime Minister

On 3rd October, Lord Harold Vorn was sworn in as Prime Minister of The United Kingdom. He was elected by a landslide, his opponent, Maxwell Callaway, having stood down to avoid electoral disaster.
This was after ex- PM Rachel Anumia, also a member of the House of Lords called an early general election.
The result was as follows:-

Lord Vorn has promised an end to partisan politics and a new era of consensus politics. He carries a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. In his speach Lord Vorn also promised "To hit the floor running. In Foreign, Home, Defence and Cultural affairs". He carries a lot of responsibility on his shoulders, especially considering he is TUK's first openly gay Prime Minister.

The Hustings are over. TUK has its new Parliament in place, after crippling inactivity in the last Parliament and two by-elections Rachel Anumia
called for a general election.

Experienced Conservative Democrat candidate 46566 fought his campaign as such, promising to bring an experienced hand to the lower house.
Lib Dem deputy leader Robert Kennedy, rookie at the last election but now an entrenched member of the HoC, fought for honesty and activity. Using his reputation
from last the last session as an example. He was the clear winner at the election amassing the most votes.
Venus party member Gideon Kadath, winner of the by-election a few weeks a go also ran an honest and open campaign.
Ex- Lord and Lib Dem Ebren argued that his experience in the upper house would make him an ideal candidate and it worked as he crossed the line as
the fifth MP.
Conservative Democrat Nivogal ran an unsuccessful campaign to be elected. Finally, Billypig, leader of the Conservative Democrats also made it into
the HoC, claiming that experience in other regions made him a good candidate for the job.
After the inactivity of the last commons the current crop of MP's have promised activity. The new HoC has only a single MP from the last general election, which illustrates just how bad the inactivity was!
46566 has been appointed Speaker of the HoC and Robert Kennedy has been deputy speaker.

Prince of Wales removed to preserve the Monarchy's Credibility

After creating several opinion provocative polls that were embarrassing to the Royal family, His Majesty King Edward PASD was given no choice but to remove Masterson from the line of succession.
Masterson publicly apologised and made it clear that he was not bitter about the decision and understood it to be inevitable.
The King has made no announcement on whether he will name a successor or not.

King PASD has decided that at either the beginning or end of each month he will hold an investiture service. The following were announced by the Lord Chamberlain William Bettingham:-

1. Baron Vorn, Baron of Somerset, is being raised to Viscount, and will now be known as the Viscount of Essex. His spoken style remains, "Your Lordship."

2. Mr. Robert Kennedy, for his services to the region, shall now be the Baron of Somerset, and his spoken style will become, "Your Lorship."

3. Duchess Rachel Anumia, Duchess of Leeds, has received the Dame Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath, the highest female order.

Robert Kennedy declined the honour, stating that he wasn't ready. Congratulations to all others those who have received honors from the King.

Well the United Kingdom is having a very bad time at the moment, I'm going to try and find out what I can

Hi Markanite!

The last week or so has been extremely turbulent for The United Kingdom as I am sure you have witnessed. Essentially, some time ago Conservative UK, our founder, resigned his position as Monarch of the region. The vast majority of the active forum population then spent the next year or so building TUK democratically, however Conservative UK felt under-appreciated and began to abuse his root admin powers by deleting areas of the forum that he did not feel were necessary. When he was challenged about this, he banned everyone who he deemed to be a 'trouble-maker' in his eyes. These banned members have now relocated to a new region "II The United States II", which is now the official home of the exiled government. Having banned the majority of the active population, and having closed down the regional forums and eroded years of work from various members, he still continues to believe that his actions are appropriate. Even though, as founder, he has the right to do what he wants with his region, he has betrayed an active population. As I am sure you are aware, without an active population, there is no region to rule. He finds himself in that situation at the moment.

I therefore had no choice but to resign as the Delegate, and my statement can be seen in the TUK official forum (if it hasn't been deleted by ConUK). Luckily, the majority of our active members have now moved on and are focusing on "II The United States II". If you would like to speak to the exiled government, it is best to come along to those forums, or I can direct you to those running the operations.
