Biregional Baseball Tournament

Jantis Bond: Hello everybdoy, and welcome to XKI. This time, it's baseball season for the Islanders and the people from the region ITALIA. We need four (4) XKIers. The format is simple:

We need the name of your team, the names of 12 batters, and the names of 5 pitchers.

For the batters, they can have a maximum of 10 power/10 speed. All players must have a 1 power/1 speed as minimum. This does not count towards the total of 106 points you have to allocate between power and speed.

For the pitchers, we need the best pitch and worst pitch for your players. Choose from the following:
A) Fastball
B) Changeup
C) Breaking Ball
D) Curve
E) Slider

Serenity: As an extra value, you can also include a brief summary of where your team is located in your island, as well as a brief history about your team. It's what ITALIA is doing. Good luck to all!

OK, I'm in for this... I'll have something in the same format as Mutanatia up some time soon (hopefully), even though I know nothing about baseball. At all.

Just to clarify: do the overall batter scores have to add up to 106? What was that about 1/1 batters not counting towards the total?

Description: Baseball has only recently become known as a major sport in Omnaria, and the inaugural Omnarian Baseball Festival was won by a landslide by this group of scientists and researchers from the Omnarian Joint Staff of Defence and Technological Advancement. While the team is still highly inexperienced, the players are hoping to step in and support their region in their contest against Italia.

Jantis Bond: Hello everyone! I’m Jantis Bond.

Serenity: And I’m Serenity!

Jantis Bond: Tonight’s game feature the Ananke Thorny Flowers (0-0) and the Estayland Astros (0-0).

Serenity: Correct. In a few moments, we’ll be playing the highlight reel.

Jantis Bond: Before we do that, we have to tell you that tonight’s starters are Nancy Ogg (0-0) for the Thorny Flowers, and David Solomon (0-0, 10-14 career) for the Astros.

Serenity: Let’s get started!

In the top of the third inning, there was one runner on and Vetinari at the plate. Jantis Bond had the call.

Jantis Bond: Runner on third right now, one out. The pitch from Solomon to Vetinari...swung on and it’s a high fly ball it deep to right field. It might go…the fielder is looking up and it is OUTTA HERE! And the Thorny Flowers take the lead right now, 2-0 the score! What a shot!

In the top of the seventh inning, there was one runner on and Will Riker at the plate. Serenity had the call.

Serenity: One runner on right now, and stepping up is Will Riker. He has it 49 homeruns in the three years he has been in an XKI league. Steps in. The pitch…Swung on and it’s hit deep. Back…back…back! It might go! There it goes! Gone! Homerun for Will Riker and it’s now a 2-2 game.

In the top of the ninth inning, there was a runner on third and Detrius was at the plate. Jantis Bond had the call.

Jantis Bond: There’s a runner on third base and Detrius at the plate. The pitch. It’s a squeeze! Here comes the runner from third! There’s no play at the plate. The batter is out, but the Thorny Flowers now have a slim 3-2 lead! How about that!

And that brought us to the final out of the game. There was no one on and two out for Will Riker. Serenity had the call.

Serenity: Will Riker, the Astros’ last hope. Digs in. Nancy Ogg leans in and gets the sign. The 0-2 is…Taken for a called strike three! The game is over and the Thorny Flowers win! Final score, 3-2!

Jantis Bond: Hello everyone, and welcome to Game #2 of the XKI bracket out of four for today. This afternoon’s opponents will be the Omnaria High Technocrats (0-) and the HockeyNutVille Yankees (0-0).

Serenity: The Yankees are looking to have a great time since they CTEd immediately after winning the championship, while the Technocrats get ready for the first game of their career.

Jantis Bond: The starting pitchers for tonight are Tokuchi Toua (0-0) for Omnaria, and Brett Muller (0-0) for the Yankees.

Serenity: Let’s cue the highlight reel!

It was the top of the first, and there were two runners on for the Technocrats. Jantis Bond had the call.

Jantis Bond: Runners on second and third right now, Phoenix Wright at the plate. The pitch is…swung on and it’s a high fly ball his deep to right field. It’s back. Way back! The fielder is jumping and it is…GONE! A three-run shot for Phoenix Wright and it’s now a 3-0 lead for the Technocrats! What a shot!

It was the bottom of the first and there was a runner on second base for Terry West. Serenity had the call.

Serenity: Here’s the pitch…and this should be routine fly ball. The fielder circles under it and—HE DROPS IT! The runner will score and it’s now a 3-1 Technocrat lead as the Yankees score one. What a boneheaded play!

It was the bottom of the fourth, and Damon Gonzalez was at the plate. Jantis Bond had the call.

Jantis Bond: Nobody on for Damon Gonzalez. The pitch. Swung on and hit deep! This is way, way, way! Gone! It’s a homerun for Damon Gonzalez and it’s now a one run game! 3-2 Technocrats still though!

It was the bottom of the sixth, and a runner was on for Damon Gonzalez. Serenity had the call.

Serenity: The pitch to Damon Gonzalez…line drive…it’ll be caught. The runner on third is tagging up. Here’s the play at the plate and he is…SAFE! Score tied right now 3-3!

And that brought us to the bottom of the 7th. Paul Duncan was at the plate with no one on. Jantis Bond had the call.

Jantis Bond: Paul Duncan at the plate now. The pitch…swung on and hit deep! It is LONG, LONG GONE! HOMERUN! And the Yankees have completed their rally, going up 4-3 over the Technocrats!

That brought us to the bottom of the 9th. Doug Montgommery was the new pitcher from the start of the inning. He retired the first two batters he face, and that brought up DracoNeko. Serenity had the call.

Serenity: The 0-2 to DracoNeko is…grounded to the first baseman. He’ll take to the bag himself, and this game is over! FINAL SCORE: 4-3 Yankees!
