Three months after the end of the Second Session of LUSS in the end of October General Nelson Fletcher (Ret.) entered the golden-domed LUSS building followed by the rest of the Surdran delegation trying to escape the cold January air.. It never ceased to wow the General how magnificent the building was. Pictures of all of the current world leaders (plus some empty space for any leaders who might be joining later) adorned the Amphitheater. There were several tables set up where leaders may negotiate. But the real thrill was up in the seats where the leaders’ delegates would sit. The seats were plush, comfortable, and each seat bore a golden plaque with their name engraved on it.
The General was happy to see that his new seat was located near the center of the hall with the rest of the Security Council. He couldn’t help but smile at the photo of the Surdran leader in the front of his desk. There was King Michael sitting in his black military uniform with his trademark smile, behind him was the blue, black, and gold of the Surdran national flag, and in his lap was a satellite photo of the continent of Surdra center in it. Despite another round of objections the King had once again selected Fletcher to represent the Kingdom within LUSS. He argued that Fletcher had been a major part of Surdra reaching its current position in LUSS and to toss him aside for another would be a disgrace.
In the last year the Kingdom of Surdra had aided in the reconstruction in Malecia, joined ANMO, fought the insurgency in Bellemiatic, was the main force behind the victory against Robloxica, led the way for an ANMO led peacekeeping mission in Kalaska, and not only was one of the nations responsible for Globexanter being removed from the security council, but they then took their place as one of the five permanent security council members.
Taking his seat Fletcher already had one item for the Security Council that he was sure that would cause an unpleasant talk between him and Ms. Schmidt. Fletcher watched as the other delegates entered the hall and he nodded to the ones he liked and ignored the ones he didn’t. He grunted as a wave of pain from the left side of his face hit him. The doctors told him it was from the nerves from the damaged skin misfiring or something like that. All Fletcher knew was that it hurt and all he could do was to down two painkillers.
