Sure, how bout the fact that it states that whoever is a non muslim and they say anything "impermissable" about their so called allah or their so called prophet, they are to be punished with death or other forms of punishment. Any religion that advocates the killing of humans by humans is not what america stands for. Anyways check this page out. answering-islam.org/Authors/Arlandson/top_ten_sharia.htm
okay, first that website is so biased its funny, second the basic answer is that Sharia Law is the moral and religous law of Islam and like with most things with Islam the views of Sharia are wide and varied. Their is no one single version of Sharia that an outside viewer could use to generalize the whole thing.
Also, speaking from personal knoweldge, almost all muslims living here do not want Sharia to take over US law or follow what you consider Sharia law. Islam is large and by far a religon of peace and one where they do not kill you just because you say something bad about their religion.

I never said that they all wanted to take over the U.S. Let me put it this way then, I dont agree with Islam, I dont like it, and I dont care about it. I know there are peaceful muslims. I have a couple of friends who are from india and are muslim. Like I said earlier, I like them as people, i just dont like their religion. To each his own though. Thats why God gave us free will.
So you're happy to be just another closed minded person in this country running around acting like they have the first clue about something? If so, more power to you. Might I suggest you actually learn about something before you start actting like you know about it, because I can tell you don't.

Its not relevant at all, Im to blame for the unrelated remarks. Im through with this debate though Cerb. Just bear with me and let me end with this remark please.. Call me what you will though. I dont claim to know a whole about Islam bacause guess what, Im not a muslim!! Nor do I wish to know any more than I already know about Islam. What little I do know, is enough to tell me I dont want to be a muslim. I am a Christian, and I will stand behind my faith til the day I die. Now, we return to the debate on gay marriage.
Enough with the dissection of different religions. It's totally irrelevant to the subject at hand.
Furthermore, Numenorian Kingdoms, we have people here from all backgrounds. Please refrain from insulting others as you did, particularly given that you have displayed very little knowledge on the subject.

I am surprised that no one has had a real go at the argument from 'the government shouldn't mandate rights' position; that has been doing the rounds on various right-wing libertarian forums. I see through that argument quite easily, given that heterosexual marriage is also a government mandated right, as are religious and free speech rights; and property rights.
I have somewhat stated that but from a different perspective. I have stated that the government should indeed not mandate who can and can't marry. I have stated though that deregulation is the true libertarian position.
