Rules and Information for Political Parties
How to create a political party:
The nation seeking to create a party will create a thread in the Political Party Board, detailing the party’s intention and a member list.
There must be three WA members that make up said party. The party will remain a party until it has been inactive for two months. An inactive party is one which has:
-Fewer than three WA members
and/or
-had no posts from current party members in the last 60 days
and/or
-party leaders who have failed to reply to the Chief Executive's Forum and NS inquiries for a period of sixty days
Parties that meet one or more of these criteria may be closed at the Chief Executive's discretion.
Rules for sub-forum:
Political parties may request a private sub-forum from the Chief Executive after they have existed for six months and remained active.
Rules regarding activity of political parties

Parties that meet one or more of these criteria may be closed at the Chief Executive's discretion.
Running for Office?
The following constitutional requirement affects nations who wish to run for the office of Senator.
Article 3.2. Senators shall be elected for a term of four months, two each to be elected on the second Tuesday of each odd month of the calendar year. Elections shall follow a course of one week for nomination and campaigning, after which nominations are closed and followed by one week for voting. Nomination, voting and election shall be open to all citizen nations of The 10000 Islands registered as reset time of the first day of nominations. Elections shall be held in a manner approved by the Senate under the direction of the Registrar-General.
The following statutes and resolutions affect Senate elections.
3. In regions that have an established government, Councilmembers are disallowed from holding a position of power that:
a. hampers their productivity as a member of the Council to a degree where they will be unable to perform their function (high profile government positions, deputy positions, and so on in other regions or organizations);
b. Is in direct conflict with their role and position in the Council as defined in the Constitution; and/or
c. Reduces or undermines the dignity of the position they are elected or nominated into.
Candidates should also be aware of the rules governing elections as described under NS 33-1.
Senator Responsibilities:
The following section defines the duties for each senatorial seat:
Senator for New Republica South:
This Senator is responsible for running and promoting debates and straw polls, as detailed in NS 300-4.
Senator for Himes West:
This Senator will oversee and develop the regional Role Play (RP). This duty can be accomplished by encouraging active engagement within the RP community, developing new RP ideas, and developing awards to give to those deserving of them.
Senator for Lyonnesse East:
This Senator is responsible for the oversight of all XKI Houses. This currently includes running the XKI House Cup and Shield competitions, overseeing the House Achievement Plan, and nominating new House Stewards as needed.
Senator for Blue Canaria North:
The Senator for Blue Canaria North is responsible for the monthly XKI Update Report to submit to the Delegate. This update will be compiled by the Senator by the 10th day of each month, at the latest, and approved by the Delegate by the 15th of each month, at the latest. The posting of this final monthly report will be done by the Delegate and distributed to other regions by our XKI Emissaries.
In addition to these duties, all senators are expected to take an active role in presenting new legislation to the Council, and participate in matters brought before the Council.
For candidates seeking re-election to the Senate, they should be aware of the duties for the Senior Senator. These duties are in addition to those already specified for the individual senatorial seat.
The Senior Senator has several very important roles in the Council of Nine. For these roles that will be mentioned below, the Senior Senator can either do them themselves or appoint another Senator to do them. If these things are not done in a timely manner, it will be at the discretion of Grub to demote a Senior Senator and name the next Senator in line the new Senior Senator.
Responsibilities:
1) Monthly Council Reports - These monthly reports that are archived in the Council of Nine Lobby are to be written and publicly posted within the first ten days of the month. These reports give an overview of the goings on for past month in the Co9 and the region.
2) List of government officials - The Senior Senator shall keep updated the list of government officials of the region.
3) Rookie of the Quarter - The ROQ is given ordinarily to a new nation every three months that registered during the prior two quarters and has made the most impact on the Islands. This award should be determined within the first ten days of the quarter (January, April, July, October)
