I'm going to work on my profile today. As I mentioned, it's going to be heavily based on BSG (at least the structure) and it will have for now, dominion over one quadruple star system (home) and three outliers (A very small player overall).
Star: Rox Code: 2545313518-1.03 Stellar mass: 1.03 Solar Masses Stellar luminosity: 1.16 Color: Yellow (Apparent color is Yellowish White) Age: 2.753 billion years (6.162 billion left on main sequence) Habitable ecosphere radius: 1.075 AU (0.875 - 1.551 AU) Orbiting Planets: 12 Planets of Interest: Anafalíopi (Planet #4; Terrestrial Planet; N2, O2 - breathable), Rmer (Planet #5; Terrestrial Planet; N2, O2 - breathable) Strategic value: Absolute (Is Drakian Homeworld; Is Capital; Has Two Habitable Terrestrial Planets)
Star: Neu Rox Code: 118675891-0.75 Stellar mass: 0.75 Solar Masses Stellar luminosity: 0.27 Color: Orange (Apparent Color is Yellow Orange) Age: 4.197 billion years (23.321 billion left on main sequence) Habitable ecosphere radius: 0.521 AU (0.424 - 0.752 AU) Orbiting Planets: 11 Planets of Interest: Krausa (Planet #2; Frozen Planet; Thin Atmosphere) Strategic value: Low
Star: Rakorekrun Code: 1224392426-1.01 Stellar mass: 1.01 Solar Masses Stellar luminosity: 1.07 Color: Yellowish White (Apparent color is White) Age: 2.334 billion years (7.142 billion left on main sequence) Habitable ecosphere radius: 1.034 AU (0.842 - 1.493 AU) Orbiting Planets: 13 Planets of Interest: Rakorekrun-V (Planet #5; Has Forreruner Ruins) Strategic value: High (Has Forerruner Ruins; Has Tier 5 Colony)
Roth you need to drop the stellar masses you added to the two codes I gave you, while you did keep the same masses you changed the codes, for example Rakorekrun had a water world but by adding the -1.01 changes it to a garden world.

These are the official rules for the Science Fiction RPing section
This will be a general Science Fiction Future tech RP World.
General Forum rules General Forum rules are IN EFFECT for the Science Fiction RPing forum. Examples of these rules include, but are not limited to: No flaming No griefing, etc
Military exercises near a neighboring Star System, nor a diplomatic insult (depending on the language used, of course), are not necessarily considered a flame or a grief.
God-modding and auto-hitting God-modding and auto-hitting are NOT permitted in the RP section.
God-modding is defined as:
Making oneself all-powerful in role-playing through any actions, series of actions, or traits that are so unrealistic it is impossible in real life.
Examples of this include but are NOT limited to: Nuking an ENTIRE country when given permission by mods to do so. Even nuking an uninhabited site would still be considered to be god-modding as it would be a waste of money and hence, unrealistic. Taking control of someone else's character/army Using a weapon that vaporizes an entire country. Using a single soldier to wipe out an entire battalion of troops—and he doesn't even get hit! (Realistically speaking, he would be dead after the first 10 or so shots.) Using a space-age weapon in a modern-day RP Using a modern-day weapon in a medieval RP Creating an invincible unit, be it a soldier or otherwise (this includes force fields...)
According to Kannex:
Sending 4 Million troops overnight by sea is also a god-mod.
That is to say, any sending of EXCESSIVE amount of troops to another planet is considered a god mod.
Auto-hitting is defined as:
An action in which a player, while in battle, attacks an opponent and forces the player to take the hit by describing it in their posts.
To create the alternative, leave the attack “open”; that is to say, make it like this:
The Antaran Cruiser readied their missiles and fired them upon the enemy ships.
Note how the result is NOT given.
The shop Many Islands can purchase “military stuff” in the shop. The shop is heretofore NOT allowed to be used in the RP.
Mind Control and Telepathy Mind Control may not be used in any situation and Telepathy is ONLY permitted as long as it is not used to one’s advantage in any situation. You require moderator approval before use.
No "Buster Call"-style moves Actions such as destroying an entire city or Planet, are not allowed UNLESS okayed by a moderator. At this time, the current Moderator is Boltor. There will be no overpowering moves (The mod will decide what is considered an overpowering move).
No-choice Attacking No-choice attacking is defined as when:
One player forces the other to fight a war or any other battle that the second player does not wish to fight.
This is NOT allowed.
Inter-regional Wars In the event of an inter-regional war, there must be a go-between in order to set the terms and limits of an inter-regional war.
Moderator Powers Moderators/Judges have the power to end a war when the outcome is obvious. Additionally, moderators may be petitioned to end a war and establish peacetime.
Excessive OOCing When Out of Character (OOC) becomes excessive, a moderator will jump in and ask that the OOC be moved either to PMs or taken into a thread (if more than one person is involved). If no action is taken, the moderator will insist, and even be helpful enough to create the thread for you. ☺ If the problem STILL persists, the thread will be CLOSED and participants will be asked to resolve OOC issues before continuing. Please Note: Excessive OOC is defined as a minimum of 8 posts of pure OOC. An OOC/IC post does not count towards the count.
Colony Tiers Colonies are classified by tiers to reflect stages of development of each colony. There are five tiers (1-5) ranging from what is normally called a pioneer colony to a fully developed colony. Note that the tiers or stages aren't directly tied to population.
Tier 1, or stage 1, is what is commonly referred to as a pioneer colony. This is the first group of settlers, usually ranging from a few handfuls of specialists to a few hundred, whose job is to see if in fact a colony can be built. This colony is almost 100% dependent on the world supporting them for their survival.
Tier 2 is when the first group of actual settlers begin to arrive, usually they are all part of the group that is funding the colony (i.e. a corporation). They usually only there to support whatever the main function of the colony is (i.e. mining). The colony at this point is somewhat self-sufficient and only gets basic support/funding from its backer(s).
Tier 3 is what is basically called open settlement, at this point settlers start to arrive that are not their to directly support the main function (i.e. store owner). The colony is also self-sufficient, fore example even if its not growing crops the colony can buy its food from a outside source with its own funds and no longer needs the support of a outside source.
Tiers 4&5 are largely the same, at this point are fully developed and are home to a wide range of industries. They produce and export their own products. if allowed by the overseeing government these colonies are self-governing. The main difference between tiers 4 and 5 is tier 5 colonies are able to launch and support their own colonization efforts. Also only Tier 5 colonies can construct Dreadnoughts.
Military Max Military Population Based on brackets with limits related to NS population and # of star systems controlled.
Brackets 0. Countries with less than 50 million people (as per your nationstates nation) should have no more that 15 million active troops during peacetime. 1. Countries with 50-900 million people should have no more than 25 million active troops during peacetime. You also need to have 5 star systems under your control. 2. Countries with 900 million-2 billion people should have no more that 50 million troops during peace time. You also need to have 10 star systems under your control. 3. As for countries with 2 Billion and beyond, the number of active troops during peacetime shall not exceed 100 million. You also need to have 15 star systems under your control. 4. You need to have 20 star systems under your control. The number of active troops during peacetime shall not exceed 150 million.
Maximum Dreadnoughts: Limit based on tier 4 and 5 planets and have it multipled by which bracket their military population limit is (treat bracket 0 as 0). Absolute Maximum is currently 30.
Eg. Joe has 4 tier 4&5's and NS population 1 Billion. He controls 9 star systems. Joe may have 4*1=4 Dreadnoughts. Say Joe gets another star system, Joe now can have 4*2=8 Dreadnaughts
WAR TIME: Desperate war time can increase your military size by 100%. Note this kind of total war is detrimental to your economy (enforceable by Moderator). Maximum Dreadnoughts is still 30.
Profile making steps
1. Decide if you are an alien (if alien please contact the moderator) 2. Fill in basic template for profile 3. Acquire Stargen codes for other systems from map thread (use atmosphere and moon models, you must leave stellar mass blank) 4. Design 1 system yourself (your home system) -[I recommend using stargen, set filter to one or two habitable or an earth-like, repeat count 100 or 1000 and use atmosphere and moon models, you may adjust stellar mass for this system, and this system only] 5. Detail systems, planets and military in your profile Minimum Requirements -Only Habitable planets and terraform targets that you are actively seeking to transform need full information printout. These Planets require all information in Planet template below. A nice short description of the planet is advised but not required. -Please consult the moderator about your colonies initial tier. (Boltor will just you when you want your profile approved until you do.) 6. Get profile approved by moderator (moderator currently Boltor) 7. Pick stars for your systems on the Sci-Fi map 8. Enjoy exploring and colonizing the star map. Make threads for exploration, colonization, building space ships, terraforming, trade, diplomacy, war etc...
Templates Templates MUST include (but are not limited to; if you want more detail, go for it!):
{Planet Name here} Statistics Planet type: Distance from primary star: Mass: Surface gravity: Surface pressure: Surface temperature: Normal temperature range (Night-Day): Min-Max temperature range: Equatorial radius: Density: Eccentricity of orbit: Escape Velocity: Molecular weight retained: ({Gases})
Axial tilt: Planetary albedo: Exospheric Temperature: Length of year: Length of day: Boiling point of water: Hydrosphere percentage: Cloud cover percentage: Ice cover percentage:

Total peacetime forces: Dreadnaught Limit:
Space Forces Total Fighters: Total Frigates: Total Cruisers: Total Carriers: Total Dreadnaughts:
Actions in Science Fiction Recon, colonization, terraforming, upgrading a colony tier, and building a dreadnought all require a thread in the Science Fiction Forum to have effect.
Space Speed limit The maximum speed limit for travel is 220 c (220 times the speed of light) This may change over time.
Recon of new System You may have up to the number of tier 5 colonies +1 under your control. Maximum five. You may only recon systems adjacent to systems already explored.
Colonization You may have up to the number of tier 5 colonies +1 under your control. Maximum five. Colonization of non breathable atmospheres is allowed. All new colonies begin at tier 1.
Upgrading colony tier Any colony can upgrade in tier. Upgrading in tier takes time and resources. Generally: Tier 1 to 2 will take about 1 year Tier 2 to 3 will take a few years (4-6 years) Tier 3 to 4 requires moderator approval. (About a decade or two) Tier 4 to 5 requires mod approval. (Multiple Decades) Colonies on non breathable atmospheres are limited to tier 3 maximum. Terraform to enable further upgrading.
Terraforming You must consult the moderator on terraforming a planet. The target Planet's current state and method used to terraform will determine the approximate time for terraforming (generally at least a few years on very suitable targets with effective methods, could take decades to a century to fully terraform to Earth-like). Upon Success a modified Planet template will be approved by the moderator to be put in your profile.
Building Dreadnoughts You must declare the construction of a new dreadnaught. Dreadnoughts take a long time (several years to decades) and are assembled in Space. You may only construct 1 dreadnought per Tier 5 colony you control.
If you are at your dreadnought limit, you may begin construction of new dreadnoughts, however if by the end of construction you are over the limit, this may result in detrimental effects on your economy.
Last Edit: Sept 24, 2012 22:18:15 GMT -5 by Boltor
Note: sub-FTL speed limit it .225c or 67,500 Km/s or 243,000,000 Km/h or 1.62 AU an hour (note tis does not include the time required to build up speed or brake)

Military Total peacetime forces: 15 Million Dreadnaught Limit: 0
Space Forces Total Fighters: 29000 Total Frigates: 750 Total Cruisers: 220 Total Carriers: 100 Total Dreadnaughts: 0 (1 Being built and 1 on the queue)
Ok Roth since you are first to write numbers its not your fault, but the space forces numbers are way too big. (I'm fine with you having 1 dreadnought being under construction). Probably dividing the numbers by ten is still a too large fleet for your Empire's size and military bracket.
Ship Descriptions:
Dreadnoughts are capital ship that have superior long range firepower. They could wipe the population of a planet, but cannot destroy planets. Used only in vital missions and fleet scale conflicts.
Carriers are technically the size of Dreadnaughts they just have fighters as their main weapons.
Cruisers are your main ship of the line, faster than Dreadnoughts, more armed then frigates. Cruisers would lead a flotilla of frigates in a small conflict and support Dreadnoughts in fleet combat.
Frigates are for escort and recon. Frigates are effective point defense against fighters and missiles and rely on speed and maneuverability to avoid long range attacks. Frigates can land on a planet.
Fighters are fast and super maneuverable, effective ships at attacking other ships.
Just a heads up to anyone still aware of the Scifi section's existence...
There are 4 of us who are getting ready to start a new, story-driven roleplay there later this week. So if you see a sudden influx of activity in the next few days, don't panic. We'll be setting up new threads, a new galactic sector map, and an all-new storyline. I'm looking forward to it.

I'm happy to hear it. Its been too long since our roleplay section has gotten the traffic it deserves.
