Military As per Surdra: Countries with under 25 million people (as per your nationstates nation) can have up to 3,000 active troops during peacetime. Countries with 25-100 million people should have no more than 5,000 active troops during peacetime. Countries with 100-400 million people should have no more than 7,500 active troops during peacetime. Countries with 400-900 million people should have no more than 10,000 troops during peace time. As for countries with 900 million and beyond, the number of active troops during peacetime shall not exceed 30,000.
WAR TIME; Again, as per Surdra: Nations with 5-500 million people cannot have more than 60,000 active troops during desperate war time. Countries over 500 million can have up to 100,000 troops during desperate war time.

They may seem limitive, but in wartime 60,000-100,000 is a lot of soldiers. Also not all countries are at war and it takes time and resources to supply soldiers with weapons and supplies required, don't want your army starving to death... so you can't always field a huge army.
