This is the sign-up thread for WW22.
I will keep it open for a good while to give folks a bit of a breather over the Holidays and to recover from the flurry and intensity of recent WW games.
The theme will be loosely based on the film, “Zardoz”. For those of you who have not seen it...don’t. It is, in my opinion, uh, not good. For those who have wasted 105 minutes of their lives trying to understand its incomprehensible plot and conclusion, forgive my even horribler attempt at a sequel. Unfortunately, there is no way my follow-up can be nearly as funny as the original.
I intend to pretty closely follow the rules that Firstaria developed in WW21. I thought they were quite ingenuous and injected some interesting fresh roles and powers into the game.
Simply stated, the roles (to be chosen randomly at “random.org”) will include:
*ZARDOINK – the irrepressible (and illegitimate) Son of Zardoz, who knows who the Eternals are;
*WIZARD – an old buffoon, but brilliant scientist and creator of the Crystal;
*ETERNALS - former immortal minions of Zardoz, who know the identity of the Wizard; and,
*MORTALS (including PROTECTORS) – clueless humans, who largely fill their days drinking, and making baseless charges of treachery against their fellow clueless inhabitants in the Land of Oz.
(*GHOST OF ZARDOZ – who may or may not be added, depending on the number of players signing up.)
Basic format: The game will be divided into two day phases: the Secret Phase, when the Eternals decide who they would like to eliminate by "casting them into the Vortex", and the Protectors attempt to prevent the Eternals from doing so; and the Open Phase when all players discuss and decide who to "Vortex”. All actions taken in the Secret Phase shall remain hidden until the conclusion of the Open Phase.
I hope we get a good number of players, both new and old alike; and that all enjoy our little tale of deceit, debauchery, and death.
