Welcome to The Resistance 2.0. I hope that all of you have had a chance to familiarize yourselves with the basic rules from the Wiki article that I posted in the signup thread. I will repeat them here, with 1 or 2 slight alterations. I will say this from the experience of the game I played - your activity counts. Players on The Resistance side may outnumber the Spies, but they have an uphill battle ahead of them. A lack of serious discussion puts The Resistance team at a significant disadvantage, so please put forth your best efforts and don't fail your team. That is not to say that The Spies can win most of the time, they must be extremely careful during their public voting in order to remain undetected.
Ok, in this game there are two opposing teams. The Resistance team is a group of people intent on overthrowing an evil government via a series of missions against vulnerable targets. However, the government has managed to infiltrate a group of spies into the team, and their intent is to make sure that as many missions as possible fail. There are a maximum of 5 missions, the first team to 3 wins. The resistance team wins a round if all operatives on a mission vote for the mission to succeed. The spies win a round if the allotted number of mission fail votes are achieved.
Each round will consist of two phases. The first phase is team selection. The leader for this mission must construct a team to go on the mission. The team must consist of the number of players required for that particular round. Once the leader puts forth his selections, a vote is held with each player either approving or disapproving of the chosen team. The leader may include himself on the team, but does not have to. A majority must be achieved. In the event of a tie vote, the team is rejected and leadership passes to the next person in line and another team is selected and voted on. If a team cannot be selected within 5 votes, the round is considered a mission failure and the spies win a point.
Once a team has been selected and approved, the round moves to the secret voting phase. Each member of the selected team is to PM me their choice of whether the mission at hand is to succeed or fail. Resistance team members MUST vote for the mission to succeed. Spies may vote for success or failure. After all PMs have been received, I will compare the votes to the requirements for that particular round and announce whether the mission is a success or failure.
Regardless of the outcome, leadership for the next mission will then pass to the next person in line and they will submit a new team to be voted on for the next round.
Since we have 8 players, the teams will be: 5 Resistance members who do not know the identities of anyone, and 3 spies, who do know each other.
I have randomly generated the order of leadership as well as the role that each person will play.
The number of operatives required for each round, and the number of fail votes required to sabotage the mission are as follows:
Round 1 - 3 players - 1 fail vote
Round 2 - 4 players - 2 fail votes
Round 3 - 4 players - 2 fail votes
Round 4 - 5 players - 3 fail votes
Round 5 - 5 players - 2 fail votes
The order of leadership will proceed as follows:
Calanria
Lanza
Spiritus
Markanite
Randomain
Ater Nox
Land
Tredania.
Round 1 is now open for the Selection Phase. Calanria may submit his team publicly and then discussion and voting may begin. Please bold your votes: Approve or Disapprove. You may change your vote before the last person casts their vote. Once the 8th person in a round casts their vote I will freeze voting at that point and any votes changed after that will be disregarded.
Good luck to both teams. The floor is now yours Cal.
