The Republic of HumanSanity is a small, 32 year old, nation of about 22 million citizens, of which 46,000 are in armed forces (active) and 21,500 are in armed forces (reserve).
There are no air force or navy equipments of the Republic. Its Parliament has sole authority to declare war and after war is declared its Prime Minister shall have authority to guide it.
The President is elected to a life term by popular vote. The President formally appoints the Prime Minister and holds a veto requiring 3/4 majority of Parliament to override, note that the President is not permitted to use that veto except in protection of the security of the Republic.
The Parliament is selected every three years with 34 members being elected by district and 59 by party breakdown. At the discretion of the Parliament the number of party-breakdown seats may be changed once every other election.
The Parliament selects a Prime Minster who then selects a Deputy Prime Minister and Cabinet. The Prime Minister holds all of the executive authority.
The President holds the authority, with the consent of the Prime Minister, to appoint judges and justices of the law. The three person Supreme Tribunal is the final appellate court of criminal cases, and the three member Supreme Court of Law is the final appellate court on civil or constitutional matters. A 4/5 majority of the Parliament is necessary for confirmation of a SCoL justice and a 3/4 majority is require for ST and lower court justices.
The Parliament may remove the Prime Minister at any time. They may remove the President with 2/3 vote for high crimes or misdemeanors or with 3/4 per a Vote of No Confidence. They may remove judges with a 3/4 vote for high crimes or misdemeanors or with 4/5 per a vote of no confidence. Overturning executive acts requires a 3/5 majority and overturning judicial acts requires a 4/5 majority.
In the end the people hold supreme authority in the Republic, with referenda deciding all issues definitively. The Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, President, Vice President, any two senior (i.e. second or more consecutive terms, or third or more total terms) MPs, or a by-district MP.
The current Prime Minister (1st) is Alex Brezhkob and the Deputy Prime Minister (2nd) is Nicholas Yigri both of the Establishment Party which currently holds all 34 district seats and 57 of the party breakdown seats (the remaining two are held by independents). The President is Nathan Bergeron at 64 years, also an Establishment Party member. The second elections occur in October 2019 (consider it currently May 2019 and October 2019 as being on March 30) and the Establishment Party is expected to retain their vast majority.
The Republic currently has open foreign relations and an open immigration policy where any documented person is permitted and documentation simply requires a search of your person and then citizenship shall be granted after 18 months of respectful residence.
