Anyone seen anything good recently? The last movie I went out to see was Star Wars 8, which I think I like a bit more now I've had time to think about it. Some of the jokes really missed the mark, but overall not too bad.
fully agree!

I saw the 2017 remake of Murder on the Orient Express recently. Was good; they managed to stay close and true to the book and previous films (look 'n feel of beginning of last century), while still giving it (through shot choice, camera angles and speedy cuts) all the excitement of a modern day movie.
I never saw it, but I remember that moustache from the trailer. I don't know if I could have taken the movie seriously.

Well, that moustache is a very important part of the character Hercule Poirot and even his creator (Agatha Christie) portrays him as a little silly with that thing. But she also uses that moustache to show the reader how meticulous Poirot is as a person. Not only in his investigations, but also in grooming that thing on his face. And it isn't an uncommon type of moustache in the era the movie is set in. Johnny Depp also has a moustache in this movie.

However, Poirot's was a handlebar mustache, as you say, meticulously groomed. Branagh's version strikes me as a bit wooly.
