Secession
After living in a nation corrupted by greed and religion, the entire membership of The Church of Satan left to create a utopian society free from the hypocrisy of organized religions. Over the years the population grew and flourished. Generations had lived and died never knowing of war or crime. It had been thought to be impossible to achieve. The population continues to thrive under the dictatorship government, particularly due to the careful guidance of its benevolent dictator, Magus L. For over 200 years he has lead the nation, never seeming to age. Much mystery surrounds him and little is known about him.
Chaos
After allowing payment for donated organs, a shocking event had occurred. For the first time in the nation's history, there had been a few MURDERS! The people didn't know how to respond as this was new to them. The government however had decided to do it's best to purge murder from the nation!
In other news, the people were concerned for their civil rights and the economy. This dictatorship would not tolerate it. Because political freedom was outlawed, political activists were executed for treason. As for civil rights, the government would determine if they are happy! They need no rights!
Mystery Revealed?
A new law allowed the cloning of humans for research purposes. Conspiracy theorists speculate that this is how Magus L has remained the dictator for the past couple hundred years, or in other words, the nation's entire history.
Murder On The Rise!
Murder has been increasing steadily! In an effort to bring down the murder rate, it will soon be mandatory for all citizens to carry ID cards and receive barcode tattoos containing all information on them. All information will be added to a massive police database.
Military Industrial Complex
With international incidents surfacing around the globe, Magus L has changed the government's budget to more than triple government spending on national defence. Arms production has increased dramatically, all troops are deployed standing guard at the border, The National Guard walks the streets as marshal law has been declared and all Reserve troops are on active duty. Daily life in the country is virtually unchanged.
Refugees Arrive!
Fleeing the communist regime, refugees from The South Pacific were given asylum at The Church of Satan on the condition that they work and earn money to make a living. The suburbs are filled with refugees who are adjusting to their new life.
