All of this is to say that we may want to go a bit slow in returning totally to the original role simplicity of the basic game....Frankly, without at least a few added power roles, it can be a bit boring for most of the players in the game. (Emphasis, added)
Also, when we simplify or eliminate some of the villager power roles, I think we'll need to reduce the ratio of wolves to villagers from that in this game or the villagers will have no chance. The villagers chances were really slim in this one with 5 wolves to on 9 villagers, even with powers the villagers had, IMO. We got a lot of luck.
Whatever GMs and players want to experiment with is fine by me. I'm game.

I'm going to insert a shameless plug here and invite you all to the RIA's 2nd WW game. It's mostly going to be pretty basic, and we hand out raffle tickets for free PC games to participants and winners. We aren't starting until January to allow some of people time to enjoy their vacations away from home during the holiday.
To get back on topic, I agree with Aerso. I would play if you guys set up a quick game.
The best thing about UDP jokes is that I don’t care if you get them or not.

Ok, the correct ratios would be 1 wolf every 5 players, ONLY ONE SEER, and 1 Defender every 10 players (min 1). I played with this for ages and never gave me any problem, with an acceptable wolf-villagers win ratio.

I'm now going to plug all future XKI games on the RIA forums.

More accurate should be 1 wolf every 3 players. To bring back RIA into this, the game I hosted on there only had 7 players on it. If there was only one wolf and the person chosen to be lynched in the first night happened to be the wolf...it would have been an annoyingly quick game.
I think it's more accurate to always default to 2 wolves unless attendance is severely low (in which case, if it's lower than 7, why run it yet?). That way, if they do happen to out the first wolf on the first day, it'll give the other wolf time to build up their strategy and hopefully work the game in their favor a little bit to avoid suspicion on them.
Really though, I think it just needs to be balanced out attendance wise depending on the GM, and not going over 4 wolves. 1 wolf per 5 players sounds fine for games with slightly higher attendance, but it can be modified depending on the amount of participants. 1 wolf for every 7 players, or every 3 (but again, not hitting over 4 wolves total).
In the end though, I'm fine with the amount of wolves equaling the amount of power role types...or amount of power roles total depending on the size of the participants. 3 wolves versus 3 good guys with 9 villagers, and the like. 3 wolves plus the Assassin role with 3 good guys and the elder with the rest as villagers.
The one thing we're learning though is stepping outside of that formula too much hurts the game. Having too much power on one side balances it too much in their favor and makes the threads of the game come apart. Even when attempting to balance the powers but increasing the numbers it would still end the same (IE WW31. Imagine what would have happened if it wasn't the bad guys being taken out, but the good guys, and then imagine that it was Mark that was outed, not Naba. It would have been a similar result from the other side...one side just ended up being luckier). We just need to find ways to spice up the game without going insane with it and adding 5000 power roles that could potentially skew the game too far in one side's favor.
