Story:
It was a cold and slightly rainy day. All of us decided to go on a fun campfire, no technology, only fun. Residents of West Quanandrias, we all went out into the Great Woods of Wolfaria, which was close to our city. It is a slightly hilly location, and none of us has a MAP! And while picking supplies, none of us thought of it either! But we don't care, do we? Nah! So we move into the famous campfire spot near the wood's outskirts. But some of us were more adventurous. "Lets go deeper in!" one of us said. Almost everyone agrees....... except:

We're here for fun, aren't we? Lets go deeper in the woods, since none of us have seen a real woods, I think its a great opportunity! We'll have sooooo much excitement! And of course, we'll map the way! We do have Elite's phone, and many pens and paper!

B:Are you crazy?!

Duuuude, you're nuts. I'm not going in there. It's cold, rainy, and we might get wet, and catch flu or something. Not all of us have raincoats, and most importantly, we don't know the way. Lets stay put here!

C:But we ARE short of wood

Come to think about it, I believe we can make this our base. We'll split up, get supplies like wood for the fire during the day, and venture out, and we meet here again at night! Does it sound like a plan?

Well, if we analyse it; Option A seems rather foolhardy. Mobile phones don't have guaranteed reception at all times. Option B is obviously the safe option, no-one gets lost, but we do need to gather supplies. Option C sounds kinda risky, but we do need wood for the fire. I don't see why we need to split up, staying in groups of two or three sound safest. This seems like a really buzzkill way of looking at a trip that's supposed to be fun, but this is called Survivor.

Honestly option C is the best option. Option A is like Elite said-Foolhardy, Option B is ok but if B says to stay put than why not just go with option C... Let the people who want to go in the forest get the wood, and the people who are nervous about the forest can start building the fort. It's the best of both worlds and with that I'll choose

Uh, a fort? This isn't Minecraft, we'd need tools and such. However, I do think option C is the best option if people stick together in small groups, and therefore have less of a chance of getting lost. Option C.

when I say fort I meant base... But honestly we don't know what we will face out here so if we do need to make a fort we will have weapons plus supplies... Each group has one person with an Ak-47 and we should be safe as long as they have a knife and a flashlight

Option C

Option C is the safest option, but only if we go in groups of two/three. We can spread out in different locations and begin to explore and map out the surrounding area. Option A is very risky, and option B doesn't really help us much. But we might be tired so building a base camp and resting then exploring is a viable option,

OOC: Can we get an explanation when/if we do something well, or do we have to work it out. I notice I'm on 11 life points, I assume as I have no technology, but just want to check.

Also just to help clarify what we should do if we go with option C- we neeD to split up into 4 groups of 2. One will have a AK-47 and one will have a Tarpaulin to help carry some wood... 2 groups will do that and one group will Go Scavangeing for Berry's and a water source to possibly fish from. The final group will be for People who Pick A. The group of Two will go out to the woods to Explore (with the gun and tarp for anything they find) which will help find possible materials to use later on in the rounds. Then at night we can make a campfire and use the non-usable wood as a small barricade and possibly create Rabbit traps to get food and keep animals away from us.

Option A relies on using a phone or our mapping skills, which may not be reliable and end up getting us lost. Option C involves splitting up and not getting back here until night. If anyone gets lost or is late it will be a lot harder to find them at night, which means they may be stuck in the cold and rain alone. Also, splitting up means that if anyone gets into trouble the rest of use might not be able to help. At least if we stay where we are, we can use the raincoats and tarps to stay dry.

I am voting for Option B.

Option A is foolhardy. There is a great deal of risk to it. Option C seems plausible; however, in the middle of nowhere, when one ventures out, it is very likely one will get lost. As Ater Nox said, at least if we stay where we are, we can use the raincoats and tarps to stay dry.

hence why my reasoning of using groups of 2 and one has a weapon in case of emergencies... It will protect us and allow us to get wood and help build a base camp

I think we do need a base, but this is not necessarily the best spot. We do need to do some looking around, and also need a water supply and some firewood. We shouldn't need to go too far for wood, given that it's a wooded area. On the other hand, that makes it very easy to get lost unless you have wilderness skills. I'd prefer for us to stick together at least for now.

One trick we can use for navigation is to blaze a trail by marking trees. Let's agree on a couple of simple marks (so we don't follow any old trails), and if you're away from base make sure to mark your back trail.

If the majority want to split up, then I would suggest the smallest number of groups is the best option, possible just 2 groups of 4. In any case, each group should have as wide as possible a variety of equipment, in particular a cellphone. Let's also conserve power by switching the phones off except at agreed times. Let's try to be back well before sunset, too, so we do have a chance to find people in daylight.

So far there has been no specific threat (despite the title), so if we haven't re-connected by nightfall then bunk down near where you are. Searching by day will surely be better than blundering around in the dark.

Overall then, a vote for a modified plan B, with a tolerance for C. Any idiot insisting on plan A is on their own.

I vote for option C and my reasoning is simple. Like my fellow campers above, i believe spliting into groups to do what is needed of us is smartest. I currently have three knives and two tarps, so i should be either one of the two staying behind and building a camp or exploring. If i stay behind, i will use 1 tarp for a roof and carve twigs into poles with one of my knives. If i explore i have 2 tarps for collecting and a machete, flashlight, and a folding knife to fend off animals or mutant zombie shark laser bears. Its elementary my dear Watson-campers.

I would like to Amend my above idea of C by saying anyone who chooses B if C get the majority will stay behind to build Rabibit traps and to find a good location. In addition wit all other ideas

Let's start with some questions for Great Britain & Scotland:
- What kind of phones are they? Are they smartphones? Because that matters both in terms of what they can do and in terms of battery life.
- What kind of batteries and how many of them do I have

Now onwards to the vote. After carefully considering the arguments made so far, I will vote for Option B. Specifically Almonaster's version of plan B, where we stay together and look for a better camping site nearby. We can use our knifes to mark the trees. We can also use my pen and notebook to map out the surrounding area. That way we may find a better place for a base and also collect some firewood.

Story:-
So everybody realizes the need for supplies, and a base camp. But there is now a problem. "I don't know who should go where!" cries one of you. "Very true", says another. "I think that there is no way that we can decide right now where we should go."
The south of the forest, that's where you came from. I assume none of you wants to go there. So that leaves the following:
EAST: Slightly more open than the other directions, footmarks of animals are also visible. Its a broader area, that seems to open up further. The soil is slightly wet.
WEST: Very highly wooded, but seems to be an isolated part of the forest. Tree density is high, and tree height is medium. The ground is obviously wet, but not as muddy as in the east.
NORTH: Moderately wooded, but human footprints are visible. It looks like a few people have recently been here. There is no mud, ground is hard might be slippery. There is an old Signboard that says something unreadable: "F l g ck h d"

Your next task is important. Divide yourselves into two groups (According to the option you chose) and choose 2 directions among the three given. Make sure that you also try to "explore" the options a little more before deciding. Nominate a group leader to each group. Volunteers will be given first preference.

I'd caution against travelling West. With the densely wooded area, it would be very easy to lose your sense of direction, and the overhead hanging trees will also mask the direction of the sun and it would be hard to gauge the direction from that.

I believe our best bet is North and East, obviously has man made trails and populated by humans, but the strange wording of that sign could well be a warning sign for trespassers. East is our best bet. It has animal trails and is open. Less chance of us getting lost and separating as well as the greater prospect of hunting for food. I do however feel that we should have a party guard the camp. We can leave some of our more bulky objections behind and have them guarded, allowing the group to travel further and hopefully carry more supplies back.

As I have seemingly 'hurt my leg' and won't be available for this next day, I volunteer to stay behind and be apart of the camp guard.

I agree with @gruffyd's choice,.. I feel everyone who choose Option B shall stay back at base camp and prepare the surrounding area while everyone else will set out East where the animal tracks are, I feel that with the amount of weapons we will be safe and be able to get food.. Maybe even find water

The people who stay at camp should collect kindling around the camp so we can start a fire for heat

It sounds like East might be a good choice. If there are many animal footprints, than it may imply that they are travelling to a nearby water source, which could be helpful if we run low on food or water. GBS, are there any predators in this region we should be worried about?

I agree with Sauron about West. If we were in need of larger pieces of wood it may be a good choice, but we would want to avoid travelling in too far.

North may be a good choice. I've tried to figure out what the sign says, and my guess is 'Falling Rocks Ahead'. If that's the case, it might not be so safe. On the other hand, if people have been there recently it may be worth the risk.

Seems like a good guess on the sign, although we can't be sure.

I'd be happy to co-ordinate the base camp group. We can try to gather up any dead wood that's within sight of here, and build a fire pit, etc.

I will go where i am needed, if people decided i am best at base camp because of my two tarps then be it or i could go with a group and explore because of my flashlight, machete, and folding knife.

I vote that we go east and west. My reasoning for West is because we can mark the trees on our route to make our way back, i think members with flashlights and extra batteries should go to the west. My reasoning for East is because i agree with the watering hole theory and i am not going North to the falling rock area.

I agree with Ater. Going East is probably the best choice at this time. The water source thing sounds like a reasonable assumption.

Though I do agree that it would be reasonable to have one or two people stay behind.
