History Your Way #1 - Havoc in Munich

[Bolt]

This is a game where you control your path in history, with two outcomes at the end of the game, one favorable, one not. Players may cross paths and interact with each other. You are trying to reach the favorable outcome.

In this episode, the setting is the 1972 Munich Summer Olympics. It will be based off a book I am writing. Signup will end on August 24th. I will post the starting post shortly after.

The year is 1972. Munich, Germany is preparing to host the Summer Olympics. You will make all your choices. The favorable outcome is ALIVE, and the unfavorable outcome is DEAD.

• Jin and Sheynat, you can either be German, American, or Israeli.

You both have 24 hours to decide. If you don't answer, your choice will be randomized.

[Jin]

Ill pick German-American if that is fine.

I will choose to be an American. It's a shame we don't have an Israeli.

Well, since you guys are done early, here is the rest next part:

• Jin, you must choose what to do for the upcoming Olympics. You can become a police officer/security guard, or referee for the Men's Basketball Tournament.
  
• Sheynat, you want to watch your nation play basketball in the Olympics. You can go to Munich to see the game live, or watch from your home.

Weeks pass, and the final arrives at last. The two teams are the U.S. and the Soviet Union. An hour into the match with the U.S. leading 50-49, the Soviet coach gets off the bench to go talk to the FIBA reps.:

• Jin, you can call a technical foul on the Soviets, or you can let him go.
• Sheynat, you have to really use the restroom, but you don't want to miss the game. Pick one.

Sorry 'bout the delay.

[Jin]

Ill call them out.

[Sheynat]

A technical foul has just been called, and the game's only an hour old. If I don't go now, I might wind up needing to go closer to the end of the match. I will go to the restroom.

[Bolt]

Done? Well, alright.

• Jin, the Soviets groan as the Americans cheer and shout. Point guard Kenneth Jones makes both free throws. Later, the score is still 52-49. You see American players Tom McMillen and Jim Forbes, along with Soviet point guard Aleksander Belov, all getting tangled together while Belov has possession. Jones then rams into the group, making Belov drop the ball. Jones takes the ball and shoots a 3-pointer, but the shot misses, Soviets catch the rebound and score. You can either let the basket count and make the score 52-51, or reject the basket due to Jones' illegal contact.
• Sheynat, you go to the restroom, and while you are washing your hands, a man walks in who looks out of place. He tells everyone to get on the ground, and shoots two people who try to escape. As people rush in at the sounds of gunshots, they are shot upon entry. You see the man's other pistol in his belt. He demands $10,000 dollars. You have your checkbook in your wallet, but you have always been against negotiating with terrorists. You are in a panic and decide to either reach for the man's other gun, or write the check for $10,000.

[Jin]

I dont see the illegal contact, the shot is valid to me.

[Sheynat]

If I write the check, there's nothing stopping me from getting shot regardless. Though it's risky, I go for the gun.

[Sheynat]

(I probably should have just stayed home. That would result either in a boring game or in totally unpredictable threats, though, so...)
