17:37, 20 kilometers South of Severnazia.
Cold, green and dark. Severnazia, the large island located off of the Globexanterian Coast North-East of Bly, had never been a popular holiday location, an experience that it never had to go through since the GNF militarized the location in the early fifties due to it's general remoteness. After starting out as a naval base, the introduction of more secretive technology in the eighties lead to the island to be reconverted into a research facility, mainly based around missile research. It wasn't until 2019 that, owing to the necessity of increasing Globexanter's naval power, the island was redesigned as a research and development location for submarines and their weapons. The history was mainly lost however to the Premier's staff, most of them being captivated by the calm sunset settling down on the green coastal landscape around the island. The Ivan Gren class ship had left the military town of Diet, located just South of the island, a half-hour before, mainly to bring another container-load of supplies to the military facility but also to avoid having to drag the Premier's A380 on an unnecessarily short trip.
The Premier, Leonid Vitalievich, was stood alongside the Minister of Finance and Economy, Ksusha Malykhina, on the bridge of the ship, standing towards the vast windows as the ship began to approach the growing docks and island. A lush, dark green forest surrounded most of the island's coastline. "It doesn't really look as secure as they made it sound during the briefing." mentioned the Minister, peering into the distance as it to try and notice some of the defences. "That's the whole point," countered the Premier, "if you can't see any visible defences, less precautions are taken. There are dozens of security systems, some visible but most not. Nothing is getting on the island without permission."
Severnazia was, during regular times of the year, defended by force composed of marines, but also dedicated security groups formed from the GNF. For the purpose of the security to be maintained through the arrival of the Government officials, the security had been increased with the arrival of a Gendarmerie regiment. Some of the distinctive blue-uniformed troopers were already present on the ship, having assumed the security detail for all arriving parties.
A quarter of an hour later and the ship already arrived at the small Southern supply dock, mainly composed of a small security barrack and the necessary equipment to go about unloading any supplies. As soon as the ship's forward hull doors had been opened and connected to dry land however, several blackened out vehicles exited the ship, heading swiftly through the security gates and onto the island's roads. Instead of heading towards the West or North however, where the main military facilities were located, the convoy of vehicles headed towards the East, a sparsely used and rather desolate part of the island, devoid of forests and mainly composed of bogs and wind-swept plains.
On this section of Severnazia was a slightly raised section giving a three hundred and sixty degree view around the whole area, the Politburo of Ryan Gache had designated as the building location for a state project in 2017. It was this complex that the convoy was now approaching, which would actually be serving it's first duties since the end of it's construction only three months past.
The building, built in the shape of a hexagon, was over a hundred meters long on each side and twenty meters high. It's structure was mainly based off of of large exterior steel columns which had been covered with a rust-coloured solution, giving them an age looked, interceded by long glass panels and wooded sections. A warm orange light poured out of the windows from each of the four floors, illuminating the the area surrounding the building which was to be used as a small park and greenery section for the occupants. A few dozen surrounding buildings, albeit set back and smaller from the main one, were disposed around the location, built to provide the necessary security and maintenance to the area. A regular sized airstrip was also present half an hour from the site, permitting larger aircraft to access the complex.
It was within the building that the main events were set to occur however. Taking from it's external shape, the corridors and rooms were arranged to follow the hexagon's shape, giving the building's interior a significantly distinctive architectural profile. Two thirds of the way into the building, another hexagon symmetric to the exterior walls had been built as to form an interior garden with several high-falling waterfalls, most of them shooting down from the same level as the building's roof. This scenic section inside of the building effectively served to cut off a small section of the building, easily isolating it from the rest of the complex. In this section had been arranged, under a strong principle of secrecy and privacy, a large meeting room.
It was in this room that, in the following week or so, was to host the 67th Atovatski Pact Meeting, the first of the kind to happen in Globexanter since the era of the late Premier Artyom Piaskovsky. The Globexanterian Government was expecting representatives from both the United Soviet States of Central Ruska and the Theocracy of the Dominion of Compassion, a state that was likely to join the Atovatski Pact very soon. The building had been entirely kitted out for the arrival of such a number of important guests. Rooms had been prepared and heated (since the outside temperature varied from close to zero Celsius at night and never rose above 8°C), the kitchens had been briefed in the types of dishes that each of the parties were likely to request and various items prepared in order to ensure that the meeting proceeded without a hitch.
The Globexanterian convoy moved into the roads surrounded the multiple buildings, eventually disappearing into an underground complex that was also to serve as a parking area. As the staff and officials went about settling themselves into their new temporary home, it was from now on a waiting game as to when the foreign aircraft would come in to land on the nearby airstrip.
