The Spring Games (Wysteria) - Results/Medals

The Spring Games Opening Ceremony was held on Friday night at De Gent Olympic Stadium in Wysteria.

The 256,000 seats were fully packed with fans cheering and some other who just tagged along.

For 10000 Island fans, the highlight of the proceedings was XKI’s own Judge Mortimer G. Hornsnapple III, the longest active standing judge at the Cross Regional Games (some might debate his ability to stand),
opening the ceremony with what seemed to be a traditional 10000 Islander "Snail House Horn", which he blew into the Stadium surround system.

So with the magnificent Opening Ceremony now being concluded,

The initial Spring Games event, Parkour, has concluded, having been held at Point-lee, a beautiful Wysteria coastal town.

The good news is that Peter Parkour from Palman brought home XKI’s first medal of The Spring Games, the Bronze. Well done!

According to official sports reports from Wysteria:

“Peter was actually the only athlete in the winning circle not to receive penalty seconds and was the only athlete out of the 18 to demonstrate 11 different Vaults. Most of these vaults, it seems were from the "Zoo Kingdom" : He demonstrated Butterfly vault (side vault with butterfly kick),

A Cat weaver (passing an obstacle only to slide between two bars in front), & A Monkey vault along with his bad brother, the "Monkey gainer" where he dida full 360 squat flip above the Obstacle and before landing.

Maybe his most amazing stunt was around the 3rd floor, in an empty construction spot, where he did an amazing Side wall run, gaining a momentum and rolling to a used to be stair case 2.2 meters forward, connected by a wall only.”

An amazing, excellent performance!

GOLD: Danny Hawthorn from Watersville (Yggdrasil)
SILVER: Ruufar from The Grendels (Wysteria)
BRONZE: Peter Parkour from Palman (XKI)

Also, James Larkin from Stormaen (Canada) won an Elisse Heroes title for his exceptional stunt in the 1st day of the event.

EVENT 2 RESULTS: “Camel Race”

Well, the second event of The Spring Games has concluded with us Islanders being shutout in the Medals category. Of course, this wasn’t expected to be our strong suit anyway, since there aren’t that many camels to be found on our Archipelago isles, let alone any that can run.

The list of Medal winners in the Camel Race was:

GOLD: Penelope Fan from The Bruce (Wysteria)
SILVER: MSgt. Ronald Greer from Trecdom (Texas)
BRONZE: Kieran Martin from Stormaen (Canada)

Although there are no Islanders in that group, several did distinguish/embarrass themselves in one fashion or another. Perhaps our chances of medaling were doomed from the outset by the outrageous conduct of Free Guns For All having previously kidnapped the Camel Race Judge. As reported from Wysteria:

“….Judge Anastasia Beaverhausen…was held at gun point by (Gunny)....Apparently she didn't break and after 2 hours of talking about etiquette, they broke and left. Speaking with a news channel later, she stated that she felt a shamed and embarrassed and thought that her kidnappers were disrespectful for not using a silver plated gun (which would have been more appropriate for someone of her class).”

”Other riders worth mentioning were Sania Reaih from 3LiT3 who upset her Camel so much that
half way through the race, her camel started going up and down like a bad toa boat, which caused Sania Tong to go str8 up.

A Fan was nice enough to capture her pain, (Sania is riding to the right).”

Another Islander whose fans impressed was Ardreas. ”Here we can see Ardreas fans dancing around a campfire for the Camel spirit in hope that it will guide Ardreas Rider Julianos Cineris to victory….Unfortunately, it didn’t!”

Oh well. We tried.

EVENT 3 RESULTS: “Chess Boxing”

Woo hoo! The third event of The Spring Games has concluded with Free Guns For All bringing home the Silver medal for the Islanders. Well done, Gunny!

Also, we had great representation from The Changeling Horde , who lost out in a hard fought battle for what turned out to be the Gold medal to Devil Heart of Canada (coached by Matilda Love ).

The list of Medal winners in the Chess Boxing was:

GOLD: Ebony Ivory from Devil Heart (Canada)
SILVER: Wilhelm Clay from Free Guns For All (XKI)
BRONZE: Roderick Judocus Casey from Galicland (Wysteria)

According to reports out of Herzil , the Battle for the Gold between Ebony Ivory of Devil Heart and our very own, The Changeling Horde’s Grand Admiral Thrawn, was epic. Everybody should be sure to check out the specifics in the above linked “Events” thread in the Wysteria forum.

Gunny’s winning the Silver for XKI, especially with him having…uh, raised some eyebrows by kidnapping one of the Judges earlier in the games, was an extraordinary outcome. According to wire reports from Herzil :

"Next we had Wilhelm Clay from Free Guns for All against none other than Adalatal from Scooc. Well the two who already proved they are almost matching in strength found themselves,thanks to lady luck (Judge Anastasia Beaverhausen) in the championship again only now fighting for a medal.

And was it worth it, we think it sure was!!! Clay made an historic comeback taking out Adalatal in the 6th round with a knockout. Fans of Clay were really excited in the audience, and some commented they thought he put his undefeated record on the line to brave the boxing ring once again.

With a brilliant chess game and precision boxing, Clay showed the crowd he is still worthy of a medal. In round 5 he came close to checkmate his opponent but Adalatal proved him wrong by blocking his attack and several seconds before the end, flipping the odds upside down with Adalatal close to checkmating Clay.

What the reporters neglected to find out, was that he was actually a junior chess champion in collage.

Well at the 6th round, Adalatal that was in a state of mind for winning in the future 7th round, and didn't put much effort in aggressive attacking, mostly moving back and forward with his attacks, docking and parrying. Clay used it to take down his rival. After evading an uppercut by Adalatal, he went for a short-cross to the right punch and immediately finished it with a hook to the left of Adalatal. That made his rival lose his balance which Clay used to move quickly backward and then lush forward with a "Superman punch" which knocked out Adalatal….Wilhelm Clay from Free Guns for All took The Silver Medal in the 6th round."

EVENT 4 RESULTS:“Spelling Bee”

The first four events in The Spring Games appear to be telling us Islanders that our inability to race camels may only be exceeded by our incapacity too spel wurds write.

Yep. We were shut out….again, in the "Spelling Bee" medal chase.

EVENT 5 RESULTS: “Extreme Ironing”

The first half of The Spring Games concluded in grand fashion for 10000 Islands, as Lukarinas del Arrellia from Ardreas has sailed home with our first Gold medal of the competition! Congrats & Woo Hoo!!

The list of Medal winners in Extreme Ironing was:

GOLD: Lukarinas del Arrellia from Ardreas (XKI)
SILVER: Samantha NM427 from Qanzona (Wysteria)
BRONZE: Sayoko Mishima from Goddess Relief Office (Yggdrasil)
*Bret Singh, aka "the Burner" from The Bruce (Wysteria) received Elisse Heroes award.

The accolades pouring in from the Wysteria press for our Gold medal winner were extremely flattering and praising:

"Last was Lukarinas del Arrellia from Ardreas who is a well known rock climber. Lukarinas decided this time to get down and nasty, in between two - recently formed and extremely unstable – walls (cranny). He then deployed his full size board and put his real iron on which he was granted 5 bonus points for. His soaking wet with sweat shirt from all the hard work of dangling down 50 meters was used as a garment for ironing."

"Judge Noor stated that he looked as if he 'belonged there'.
He was granted 4 points for ingenuity, 7 points for Risk and 6 points for LPSP.
His total points + bonus were 22p which landed him The Gold.

We would like to note that This is the 2nd Time a Gold Medalist arrives from The Capital city of Arrellia in Ardreas.

The Arrellian Chefs' Guild competed at The King Feast during the 2014 Medieval Olympic and won The Gold as well.
In addition, Miles Henry McCormick was also from the Capital and competed in Swordsmanship but he didn't win a medal...."

Let’s hope we Islanders can build some momentum now and grab more medals over the last half of the games.

EVENT 6 RESULTS: “Flying Squirrel Suit”

Congratulations to Randomain who brought home the Bronze medal to XKI in the wingsuit competition. We’re on a roll now, so hopefully our medal count will continue to mount in the remaining contests.

The Wysteria press had this to say about Randomain’s athlete’s performance in the finals:

Finally we had Mario Jumpman from Randomain which unlike our previous medalists, he neglected to use his wingsuit to the max and actually pulled the parachute 1 minute earlier than the last two…On the other hand, he used his parachute to enhance a spectacular stunt of landing for a brief 4 seconds on another wingsuit skydiver, before lifting himself again.

IMO, that stunt deserved better than just a Bronze, but then we’ll take all the medals we can.

Basically, the lesson we've learned from the games is that if Palman's athletes make it past round one, they're going to medal. Bringing home the gold, baby!

2016 Wysteria Spring Games Wrap-Up

HUZZAH! The Spring Games in Wystersia concluded in truly spectacular fashion for us Islanders yesterday. Gunny won our 4th straight Gold in the ”Dragon Boat Race”, and his third in the games, having already won Silver in ”Chess Boxing”, and Bronze in ”Spouse Throwing”. Yay, Gunny!

Actually, yesterday got off to a rocky start what with our XKI Judge, Mortimer G. Hornsnapple III, showing up drunk (again) and irreverently banging some sort of big gong Wysteria holds dear. Apparently, he was attacked by several other Judges and numerous arrests were made.. Tsk! Tsk! Looks like the games ended just in time to avert a major regional conflict…At any rate, you can read all about these last day happenings, including Gunny’s victory in the “Event Results” thread (link posted above) in the Wysteria forum.

And even BETTER, 10000 Islands was crowned Regional Champion of the games, due to our having won the most GOLD medals (5) of the five participating regions!

The Herzil Mint Company even produced a Gold Coin to Commend XKI!!

So, Congratulations! to all our XKI medal winners (who can view and pick-up them up in the Wysteria forum) and thanks to everyone who participated in The Spring Games!

My Dragon Boat team (Dude, Where's Our Dragon Boat) never did find their dragon boat. They ran the whole way.

It was corrected. I think it was my conscious wanting to give East Marbury ( Louisistan,) a medal for sending so many royal members to the games.
