I just wanted your guys' opinion on the same issue in a different context, because I just don't see anyone really mentioning this. I apologize if I offend anyone or if I come off as racist, but if the Stanford rapist was Black/Latino instead of white, do you think he would've received a longer sentence?

Depending if he was rich or not... i think this is more a class issue than a race issue. I don't take any offense to it... these are real issues in our society... and it's proof that life is not fair. It's obvious the guy got a slap on the wrist and i feel it's a disgrace and mockery of the judicial system... He should have gotten a minimum of 4-5 years.

Why would I have an issue with you recognizing that there is a racial disparity in the way sentences are handed down in this country?
Also, rape is bad. Rape culture is bad. People should not rape. Is there really any more discussion to be had?

The problem with Stanford rape case is that it shows a disconnect between different classes of people. Had the suspect been of working class roots rather then an upper class upbringing, the sentencing would be more sever.

The Stanford rapist got six months even though he was found passed out drunk on top of his victim. A startlingly similar crime committed by a black man did in fact carry a much longer sentence and got much less press.
Some people get more time for smoking weed than this guy got for committing rape. I don't care where you live or what you believe but that is NOT okay.
