Thanks for the welcome, Markanite! TSP has been recently re-vamping our Ambassador Program into existence again, so I'm really happy to announce that I'll be representing The South Pacific in 10000 Islands! Rather than going with the traditional and overly-lengthy foreign updates, we're gonna be dropping Quick News about stuff and keeping an active presence to interact and answer questions!
On to the news!
The South Pacific is happy to announce that we've recently signed two treaties with User Created Regions over the recent weeks. One is with The Union of Democratic States and the other with Conch Kingdom. The South Pacific has interacted with both regions actively both in R/D and in recent NS Events such as N-Day. Our UPPERCUT alliance was on non-agression terms with both the UDS and Conch Kingdom factions, and worked closely with Conch Kingdom's Augustin Alliance Faction to eliminate close competition. In addition, to reference R/D affairs more, the SPSF has actively been involved in defensive operations through the centralized Libcord server, where we closely work with both UDS and Conch Kingdom's troops to keep NS free. Conch Kingdom is an independent military, so we also anticipate potential cooperation with them on the raid front against foes such as fascists.
If y'all have any questions about the treaties, or TSP in general, let me know! I'm also in your Discord, so feel free to ping me there
Thanks <3 Tim, Deputy Minister of TSP Foreign Affairs
On the 4th of November 2017, there will be an important event: The marriage of Woonsocket to Improving Wordiness! After the ceremony, there will be a party with guests not only from the XKI! "The more, the merrier" the saying goes! You are invited to come over and feast with us and celebrate!
Best regards! The Peninsular, Foreign Affairs Secretary
Hello lovely new friends TSP is co-hosting the Worlds Art Fair! Writers, artists, singers, are welcome to share their works with fellow NSers and also have a panel of esteemed judges give them feedback and awards! Invite and more information is below
NationStates World Arts Fair Winter 2018 - January 26-29
It's that time of year again! Bring on your creativity and enthusiasm because the World Arts Fair is back in town. Last fall, we had a great turn out, with nations from all over NS joining in to share artwork and writing, even some musical compositions. We had lots of spectators who joined in to support our artists and it was a success. Here's to hoping that this year is even greater and richer than last year.
There are many categories for you to submit to....
Submit Your Work Unmistakably, the fair wouldn't operate precisely if we didn't have artists to submit their artwork, songs, and words. So we need your help to celebrate culture in this festival. Send in your photographs, musical compositions, poems, short stories, pottery works and anything else you can think to share with the NS community. We are here to celebrate all the diversity and creativity around us, so please share your work even if you don't want to be judged! The deadline for submitting your work is January 25.
Each category (visual arts, performance, writing) will be judged separately, with its own panel of three judges. You may choose what you share with the community for panel review or simply to get your work out there to others.
and we could always use more judges:
Be a Judge Have you always wanted to be the Simon Cowell of the group, or are you more of the Paula Abdul type judge? All are welcome to submit a request to be considered for arbitration roles. You will converse and confer with other judges to decide the winners of each category. However, please note, not all requests will be granted - don't take anything personally.
All the World's a Stage Performance - January 26, 2018 Show us what you've got! Sing us your songs, share your screenplays, bring a composition or arrangement to life. Submit all your performance based entries and join the WAF Discord Server to participate in a karaoke contest!
Worth a Thousand Words Visual Arts - January 27, 2018 All visual arts are shared here: photographs, paintings, drawings, pictures of sculptures, and anything else that you might have. On this day, we'll be playing Draw This to celebrate the skill and talent all of you artistically inclined people have.
The Mighty Pen Writing - January 28, 2018 Many of you have the gift of writing and creating worlds with your words - we'd love for you to share some of your work! Whether it's prose, poetry, non-fiction, it doesn't matter. All forms of writing are celebrated here, and this year, we added a fan-fiction category. The daily event is to be determined.
Awards Ceremony January 29, 2018 The judges will convene and decide which winners will reign until the next fair. Join us on this day to celebrate and cherish all the wonderful work each of our artists have done. Celebratory games of Cards Against Humanity, and the NationStates version, will break out throughout the day.
The South Pacific is thrilled to announce our signing of The January Accords, a multilateral treaty with the governments of The East Pacific and The Rejected Realms.
With both regions holding similar values and global perceptions as ourselves, we're very excited to forge forward in this new partnership. While a treaty with The Rejected Realms is already on TSP's books, the idea of a multilateral treaty came up during talks and ended up being widely supported by all sides of the negotiation. This treaty signifies another step in The South Pacific's foreign affairs direction towards meaningful alliances grounded in mutual respect and interests, and we hope that will only lead to prosperity for all involved signatories.

Will you be creating target regions speicifally for the R/D events, or will these be fought on the backs of native communities?
Hey and that's a good question. A little surprising but let me introduce myself
I am Escade, a TSPer who does a lot of cultural things for the regions and our friends and allies. I'm a defender.
Last summer I held the pretty successful and fun Defender Expo. This year I've planned the Interregional Olympic Games which will hold both R\D challenges and non R\D challenges. Like for the Expo, I or my co-hosts will be creating the regions and no natives will be harmed in any way.
If you have any other questions, please let me know
(also if I can be masked as diplomat for TSP that would be awesome, friend + diplomat ftw)
This festival honors the fellowship between three marvelously allied regions (TRR + TSP + NPO and new friend Forest) and our shared admiration for all things Tolkien. Join us in celebrating Tolkien’s intricately detailed works, from the books (The Hobbit, The Lords of the Rings trilogy, The Silmarillion) to the movies and games inspired by his expansive imagination. Tolkien has a substantive impact on the genre of fantasy (inventing, for example, the modern conception of elves) and helped make the fantasy genre marketable and recognizable. We will be paying homage to the fantasy genre as a whole!
First of all, on your journey through Middle Earth you will take an NS Themed Middle Earth Race Quiz and choose to join the elves, the hobbits, the dwarves, the humans, the wizards, or the ents. Once you’ve joined a group you will be able to earn points for your team and determine who rules Middle Earth!
Go on an adventure in a NPO Discord run Lord of the Ringsfantasy roleplay with well-written posts!
Win at io games including hordes.io and zomb.io
Compete in a Battle of Umbar game (Battleship style between Gondor and the Corsairs of Umbar in TA 1810) with a team!
Race across the Discords of TSP, NPO, and TRR to collect clues that will help you complete the Quest for the Star of Elendil!
That’s not all! We will hold Discord Voice Chats for most games, casual fantasy roleplays, fandom discussions, meme contests, and other fun events and activities that will help you immerse yourself in Middle Earth!
We invite allies, friends, well-wishers and all those who love Tolkien, fantasy and come with honor and valor!
