But the Union and SPD have succesfully negotiated to start negotiations. Provided the SPD Convention this weekend agrees, which isn't a given.

The JuSos are reaaaally upset. Just recently, their leader has held a speech saying that they do not, in any way, want a GroKo ("Great Coalition").

I feel like we should explain that the JuSos are the "youth organization" of the SPD.

personally, I think it'll be another Great Coalition.

It seems the US has taken the smart option of just shutting their government down.

Recently, it took parties in The Netherlands 225 days to form a new government after the March 2017 election. In 2016, Spain went without a working government for more than 310 days (and their economy flourished like it hadn't in decades). In 2010-2011, after the elections Belgium didn't have/form a government for a record 541 days! Their economy too, grew during that time. So, sometimes not having an (active) government) isn't all that bad

The party membera of SPD still get to vote on the coalition contract. And some of them are very pissed.

The upcoming talks between Kim Jong Un and Donald Trump seem to have a deeper ploy. American media is turning it into propaganda, while I believe that Kim Jong Un has already reached some sort of goal, whether that be hidden missiles silos, sufficient missile range, or he wants to assassinate Trump (which I very highly doubt).

I don't think Kim is stupid enough to try to assassinate Trump. Although Trump's dumb enough to incite it

Pretty good - just resigned my position at my old company. If you want more info you can PM me. I feel much better now that I'm unemployed - not entirely sure that's how it's supposed to work though

* I predicted 92.2% of House/Senate/Governor races correctly this year!
* I'm looking to transition in careers - but I'm not sure what career is best for me with an undergrad degree.

First, I would like to inform the reader of the following; I am new to this game, and by virtue, this gathering of players. In effect I find it is going to be hard to judge the seriousness of the audience. Regardless one of the greatest ways to learn is indeed by trial and error. So this will be a test in effect. I am hopeful that this group will take serious the discussion which will no doubt follow this article. Thanks!

Since 2016 in America and no doubt across the world, there has been much discussion surrounding issues of corruption and immoral leadership. I suppose it is worth noting that this has been the case long before 2016 and will continue long into the future. In 2016 many things, namely the elections, brought this question to the front of many minds.
Ever since I was enlightened to Politics by my Liberal High School Social Studies Teacher, a man who I still think of fondly today, I have considered myself a Conservative. Before 2016, I was even a fully fledged “Card Carrying” Republican.
However, during the 2016 election I found myself very torn. I was witnessing a change in my party that disturbed me. I was witnessing many Republican leaders, choose some feign victory condition, over a moral path.
Knowing one of my primary duties, as an American Citizen, was to vote, I began to fear day by day the decision I would have to make. Sure enough the day came. When I faced voting between an individual who I believed was corrupting my party, and one who I believed would deliver a status quo political agenda. Trump had policy stances I agreed with (Though few in number), Clinton didn't match my policy beliefs however was far less crude and careless.
I didn't vote for Donald Trump. I voted against Hillary Clinton. A choice which I hope to never have to make again.
I stand watching a dangerous trend in my country and across the Western World. People viewing those they disagree with as enemies. People seeking to silence stupidity, rather than expose it. People seeking to fight fire with fire.
America has always been divided. If only because we, like many other nations, have the freedom to be divided. But my most sincere hope is that we can return to a time when we could accept the morality and sincerity of those who we disagreed with. A time when Country came before Party. A time when arguments could be based on Facts and Compassion rather than Lies and Apathy.
For whatever it is worth, in this upcoming election, I hope my Democratic friends decide to field a moral candidate, not a gutter fighter. To my liberal friends, if you can do that, despite our differences, you will recieve my Conservative Vote.
I hope my post can bring some cordial discussion, that knowing whatever disagreements we might have, we are Human, and that matters.
