Hello everyone, and welcome to the May Senate Race! I'd like to personally thank my wonderful party TIP for their effort and love so far, and to all the members of the Council of Nine, for making this experience as fun as it was, and to allow me to have the platform to run a second time.
For the new members of the region, I'll quickly introduce myself. I am the incubent senator of Blue Canaria North, Deputy Regional Reserve Chairman and newly anointed TITO Knight. I have been an involved Islander in as many aspects of the game as possible, including my work as an emissary, a buddy, a recruiter and a Welcome Committee member. As a Senator, I have changed the format of the report itself a bit, including a special features section, so that our embassy regions know about a few of the cool things they can witness and maybe partake in, as well as emulate if they so choose to. The report has been also broadened to cover all major happenings in the region as they have been seen. I have worked to make sure that the report be on time, being submitted and ready to go before the 5th of every month in my term, which is far earlier than the stipulated deadline of the 10th in the guidelines.
In my time in Office, I also took up the job of a pollster, in order to increase and effectively balance my NationStates and XKI forum time, I keep an active profile there as well, with semi-interesting polls, and with the emissary assignment in Renegade Islands Alliance as well. As for my work as a Council member, I had promised a few things when I last ran, and a bit of a status update on those are as follows:
1. RMB rules and ettiquete: NS269-3 was passed, which created a new set of rules and guidelines for the RMB.
2. Embassy Requests: The topic of embassy requests and the time it takes, which was a concern raised when I first ran, is something that has been raised and is being dealt with right now. With the influx of embassy request, there have been a few changes in the way requests are dealt with now.
3. Recruitment and Involving New Islanders: As a member of the Welcome Committee, I have devoted a significant amount of time welcoming nations to XKI and inviting them to the forums. My efforts in this line, I think, are more based on cumulative work as Islanders rather than a legislation, and I have been working towards the same.
My plans for the next term include continuing efforts on the question of Embassy Policy and working towards inter-regional tournaments. The RP board has been restructured, and I'd also like to spend some time there soon enough hopefully. I'd love for the Island's advice and thoughts on my work so far and what I can do more, in order to serve you all better as a Councilmember,or simply an Islander.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask here, PM me or TG me on NationStates. I'd be happy to answer any concerns, queries or doubts.
Thank you all for your support so far and VIVA XKI!
