Islanders,
You may have noticed some changes to forum boards recently. The Council has been hard at work reorganizing the boards of government departments. Here are the biggest changes:
- A less cluttered Council of Nine Lobby: A number of sub-boards and some threads have been moved out of the Council of Nine Lobby, leaving behind a board dedicated exclusively to the core mission of documenting and discussing Council activities.
- A new, consolidated board for the Delegacy: A new, top-level board, World Assembly and Diplomatic Corps, has been created and added to the homepage. This board both consolidates key interregional relations sub-boards in one place (Islander World Assembly Proposals, World Assembly Voting Polls, and 10000 Islands Diplomatic Corps)* and gives the delegate a new board for announcements, FAQ's, their offices, etc.
- Departments of Education and Labor revamps: The Department of Education board is now open to all citizens and on the homepage. This will provide opportunity to introduce more nations to the department and give information on how to get involved. Sensitive buddy reports and the like are still behind a password in the Education Files sub-board; buddies, members of the Welcome Committee, and official endorsers should message United Royal Islands if you've lost the password. The Department of Labor, meanwhile, has always had a public board—10000 Islands Job Opportunities—but now the private department sub-board has been moved from the Council Lobby to the Jobs board as well.
* Not every interregional-relations-related board could be consolidated. Ambassadors' Row needs to remain public so ambassadors from other regions can post, and the World Assembly board needs to remain public so authors of resolutions and other interested parties can come on our forum and discuss their proposals. However, the rest of the boards now under the new World Assembly and Diplomatic Corps board need to be open to citizens only: Islander World Assembly Proposals, so that Islanders can propose their first drafts in a friendly and less critical environment; World Assembly Voting Polls, so that only our citizens can vote; and 10000 Islands Diplomatic Corps, so that our emissaries and ambassadors can report back on their assigned regions candidly without fear of their reports being read by members of that region. So unfortunately, these cannot all be consolidated.
