I am Sargon Reman. I have interacted with most of you in some way in the time I have been here.
I have been playing NS in some form or another for about 10 years. I started as the nation of Forensatha when the old Jolt forums were still around. Since my return as Sargon Reman I have invested a lot of time and activity into the Islands and have thoroughly enjoyed its atmosphere and the unique community we have. As a dedicated civil servant I have always fulfilled all of my duties while maintaining my activity level and looked for new ways to improve the Islands and preserve our community further into the future.
Experience With Reform and Leadership
As a member of 10KI who has led two major Executive departments simultaneously, I know that I have the experience needed to handle the mantle of being Delegate of 10KI. As Minister of Immigration I entered a department that had quite frankly been neglected and need a face lift in certain areas. As the MOI I have revitalized recruiter pay under the pay flexibility law that I helped to enact and I have reversed the neglect of the department by paying out 8 months of recruiter backpay that was on the books.
In my first major role I was named by the last CE as Regional Reserve Chair. I immediately moved in and reversed months worth of backlog and instituted additions and reform's that have added to the bolster of the RR. I created a CD program, doubled our homesteading payout and proceeded with steps to address business subsidies and created an account recognition award.
As a Co9 member overall I have introduced reforms that will significantly change some of 10KIs environment. I have introduced a bill which will allow for us to expand our WA authorship and lift weight off of the Delegate. I have proposed the idea of reforming the MOE into a Ministry of Culture and I have introduced House reforms which are now under public discussion. All of these reforms have majority Co9 support and we are hammering out the final details on some of them and will soon add them to wider discussion.
I have had the honor of working on the Council for nearly a year now and I know this experience will allow me to be an effective Delegate.
Foreign Policy
As Delegate I will act immediately in every way possible to make our Defender region shine even brighter in the diplomatic sphere. As a previous Senator of Blue Canaria North I know the importance of writing updates to our allies and the necessity to create a working dialogue that helps our region and keeps our interests first.
As Delegate I want us to host Regional festivities with other allies regions. This will work to provide more forum based activity and build stronger relationships with our allies.
I will pursue the cementing of our relationships with fellow Defender regions but I will seek to find ways to let our regional profile shine beyond military ideology.
I will not appoint an FAS because I believe that nothing beats the Delegate when talking to foreign diplomats.
WA Engagement and Authorship
As Delegate I will continue WA authorship. Since my Commendation of two nations, I believe that there are still Islanders who are among us that need to be recognized with a WA Commendation. With this in mind I will increase my presence on the NS forums in the SC thread and I will formally begin work on efforts to create a WA enrichment program.
Summary of Proposed Reforms By Me
1. Overall of House System
This can be found here: 10000islands.proboards.com/thread/37382/public-comment-house-system-changes
2. The Vice Delegate Creation Act
This bill consolidates the Foreign Affairs Secretary and a WA Office into one role. The VD will be appointed by the CE and will act as a foreign policy adviser, recruit and develop aspiring WA authors and retain them.
3. Revive the Ministry of Education as a Ministry of Culture
The current idea proposed by me and drafted by the CE places emphasis on the MoE taking on cultural festivities and it combines our Buddy program with the Welcome Committee. The idea was proposed by me because of our falling population and the need for more engagement. The university reforms of becoming a degree granting institution will continue.
I thank my fellow Co9 colleagues for not only supporting the measures but for realizing their merits.
Disclaimer: Since Co9 chamber comments are confidential I was advised by the CE to post this disclaimer to let everyone know that I consulted him before hand.
