Forum updates and new features

Hi everyone,

Over the next few days I will be updating programs and plugins behind the scenes on our forum. This may lead to some errors and changes, if you have any problems with them please let me know so I can fix them.

Additionally, I might be adding some new features in, so let me know what you think of them!

One of the more visible changes should be cake on your birthday! A birthday cake will now appear on your profile on your birthday.

I've updated the smiley plugin, hopefully all the plugins have transferred over correctly.

There is now a marquee at the top of the homepage. This will be used for special announcements.

I like the scrolling marquee, the only change I've noted so far. But the page scrolls and updates s l o w l y, in a choppy manner. Just a bug, I'm sure.

There was a sidebar with some notifications (I had it active for an hour or so yesterday) but it made the pages cluttered.

The member list page seems to be having some issues. At first glance it looks fine. However, as soon as you search for someone, the information is misaligned and the information under the column "tacos" is the information that corresponds with the date registered etc.

Can't make this work

Profile; Edit Profile; Personal - scroll to bottom to find menus for colour changes. Be sure to 'OK' the colour choices, then save before exiting.

This is worth mentioning: The more plugins we use, the longer the forums will take to load, which will be especially hard on those of us with slow internet connections.

indeed... The scroll makes the desktop version loading very slowly...

The problem is only on my tablet; the desktop version works fine

For me, desktop version works fine - then again, I'm using Firefox on a Mac with 5G internet

The desktop version is fine at work, where we have decent internet. It's a bit unnerving at my 16MBit/s home connection >.>

I forgot to say it was slow on the tablet or cellphone... I have to use mobile version or is a pain in the ass...

Actually, the mobile version works fine for me (which is unsurprising as most plugins aren't included).

Yes, mobile version works perfectly, but it doesn't have any of the new features...

The image under "Subject:" that opens the title format box appears broken on my end.

What is the difference in use/purpose between this and the news fader? Are both necessary?

What did you all think of the scavenger hunt? Similar events will be used in the future if it was popular.

Lag only exists on massively long pages (like this one, or Taco Island/WW), and is at most 1-2 seconds. Scavenger hunt was fun...only to find I'm in 6th place instead of 3rd, because I stopped playing the game while other people got crazy into it lol. Are there any sort of prizes associated with the hunt?
