Male or Female - Who has it easier? ****

Well, speaking from a considerably older standpoint (male, USA, um... over 30, let's say) I woul dhave to say, hands down, men have it easier.

Easier. When you consider the arguements pro and con to this, it makes a lot of sense to say neither has it easier. All depends on your definition of 'easy'. For me, easy means lacking in complexity.

Guys fashion. Easy, nothing too complex there. Hell, we can get away with sneakers and still be considered semi-casual. Dress wear hasn't changed much in the last 20 years... slightly different cut and colors, but suit and tie is the same. Shoes haven't changed at all except that nasty detour through platform soles in the 70's. Simple.

Guys cosmetics. What guys cosmetics? After shave or cologne, maybe some hair gel. Simple.

Guys shaving. Stubble is considered a fashion statement sometimes. If not, grow a beard.

Guys social dynamics. You are freind, foe or something else. If you get in a disagreement, you hit each other and then either hate each other a lot or most likely get over it. Sometimes, you actually become freinds after that. Politics can be fierce, but its usually down-and-dirty not catty and socially-driven.

Guys parenting. Well, first the biological is far easier to handle. WE can't bear the child, we can't feed the child (except by bottle) and the child bonds the mother first... meaning we can't be significantly involved until the little bugger starts breaking away from mom, say 5 yrs old. After that, society has painted it so we are USUALLY the working parent, so we have less time commitment than mom. Plus, we are usually cast int he role of disciplinarian, so until we have to talk to Junior about the birds, bees and broads, we aren't expected to do as much nurturing.

Guys dating. We can date as much as we want, and not be labelled as freaks, tarts or other such bad names. We are congradualted on being promiscuous. It is left to us to pursue, so we can pick and choose who we court, where women have to fend off any obnoxious mouth-breather who finds them attractive. Women already have a fairly low opinion of us as signle guys, so if we do a bare minimum we are often seen as good catches... just call the next day and remember to say she is pretty and you have beaten half of the rest of the gender in etiquette points. Shamefully sad, but true.

Now, I will never say it isn't HARD to be a guy. If you've ever had the ever-lovin' stuffin' beat out of you by the same guy for three grades until you hit a growth spurt and returned the favor, you know what hard can be. Guys are expected to be competitors, and thus always on guard. But it's a simpler existence, and one I wouldn't give up for all the tea in china.

The majority of girls like chothing and children (hard as it may be for a male to believe ;D ), so it isn't really a burden to us.

i think that males have it easier, much easier. from what i can tell women are about the most inefficient creatures on the planet. I couldnt even think of what it would be like to be a girl, always wasting time on looking nice and buying shoes. you know that you only need one pair of freaking good shoes!!! anymore than 3 pairs is inefficient and a waste of time and money. another thing is emotions, i can honestly say that i dont feel alot of emotions and i like it that way. girls worry all the time, i dont. the slightest little things always get their panties in a wad and they have to throw a fit or cry or somethin. in my opinion emotions make you weak and less perfect, they effect your judgment and behavior. guys, since they usually dont feel nearly half as many different emotions as women, arent paranoid all the time.

UND, I think you are talking about materialistic and sissy girls. You shouldn't classify all females into what you were talking about. There are very efficient females out in the world, as well as very inefficient males. Remember the bell curve please!

I can pee on a tree if I need to. My girlfriend needs me to stop the car at a gas station so she can go. Sucks.

I can get dressed in less than one minute. She needs to pick out pants that match her shirt that match her shoes that match her earrings that match her makeup that match her hair. Sucks.

I can ignore what people say about me, and put it behind me. She has to confront the person, get in a fight, start drama, apologize, make up, get in another fight, start drama, get angry at the other person, and then ignore them. Sucks.

But I love her still.

Taking care of a family gives many opportunities to vent emotionally that men do not have. It is generally harder for men to develop inwardly. Women live more contemplative lives, and more emotionally satisfying lives.
