What government type is the best?

Republic: USA, France
Communist state: PR China, Cuba
Constitutional monarchy: U.K, Thailand
Military regime: Burma (Myanmar)
Parliamentary democracy: Slovakia
Representative democracy: Dominican republic
Theocratic republic: Iran
Monarchy: Saudi Arabia

No saudi arabia is not a constitutional monarchy, it is an "old style monarchy", sort of like a dictatorship.

Well, you listed so-called "communist" states (ie. corrupt, elitist dictatorships), but what about a Communist democracy (although none currently exist)?

I guess the best government would be a theocracy if you can get the straight poop from God. Problem is with getting the straight poop straight.

I figured a computer is the closest thing to a god we got right now, if it's really good and big but not running Microsoft.

Kind of figure that publicly held corporations are sort of like constitutional monarchies--if yo work for one you know it's good to be king.

Hence the Fleeban Corporate Cyber-Theocracy.

So far it's worked. But not everyone is happy. Yet. We're working on it.

As long as you obey the governement's basic orders of leave others alone, pay taxes for upkeep of infrastructure and other basic things. Problem is, it requires a malavolent good or benevolent evil dictator. Succession can also be a problem too.

Actually a communist democracy did exist, Chile under Salvador Allende, one of the most humane rulers to have existed. That is, until he was killed by an American supported coup which brought to power, you guessed it, General Pinochet.

Regarding the topic, I tend to agree with TheSensitiveNewAge... the only truly efficient government is a genuinely competent and benevolent dictatorship.

Needless to say, these are rare...

I'm so annoyed with myself. Cammarvane was a successful Benevolent Dictatorship from inception until sometime last week, when I accidentally gave out too many political freedoms and turned Capitalizt. Complete with the unnecessary 'z'.

No dictatorship has been perfect, it is an impossibility. Since no human being is perfect, no dictatorship can be perfect much because the state in a dictatorship is run by one human being. Still a dictatorship can be closer to perfect than a democracy, but that has also been rare.

I do not think anyone was saying a dictatorship could be perfect. Yet it is still a good point you raise, truly good governements have always been in the passing. The best that can be hoped for is to have a governement capable of reform with a basic set of near-unchangeable laws to see it through the rough patches.

The United Arab Emirates is comprised of seven Emirates, a federation type system. Abu Dhabi is the administrative capital but Dubai is definitely the commercial capital.

I voted communist state, but I would have prefered an option for socialism. I, myself, am a socialist, and I happen to think that it has the potential to be the best type of government. Just me, of course. A theocratic republic could potentially work, but then you run into the problems of wars with other religions and possible corruption among the ruling class, which would go literally unquestioned by the nation's own people unless there was a fringe-fanatical group that decidedto speak up.

Dubai's a dictatorship of the oldest school, good old fashioned absolute monarchy. The 7 Emirs get together and run their Emirates together, sans input from the people. So it WOULD be a dictatorship in any sense of the word.
