Revitalise politics forum

I know, I know. The Subject of this thread isn't exactly new.

Anyhow, Is there no way we can request a total cleanup in the political parties forum? Not long ago there was a nation asking if the RRP was still around. The forum is littered with old and useless posts that seems intimidating even to me, and I'm an old nationstates user. Imagine if you're new here, want to check out politics and end up staring at that forum! I'd be scared as hell! It's har to make out what's useful info and not, and due to the infrequent posts there, stuff from the stone age is still on the first page.

I request that the members of the UPP consider taking a stance against the overcrowdedness of the political parties forum and request a cleanup.

As for what to do with the old stuff... throw it in one of those archives, or delete it completely.

In the future in a hopefully cleaned up and re-organised political parties forum the official threads of the acknowledged active parties should be stickied at the top, and the rest of the forum should be used for mostly debate threads, which would be removed and put into an archive as well after a set amount of time.

I see a more cleaned up political parties forum as one of the big three things that has to be done in order to create a more lively political culture within the region. The other two things are a bigger population and making politics more fun for the average forumist (could include debates on RL issues, more political parties, etc.)

So, what do you think?

You nailed it Alf. I have nothing i feel i want to add, other than that we suggest all old stuff goes into a huge archive pot. I don't like throwing out old clutter, and here, due to our infinite storage space, there is no need to. Out of sight, out of mind.


Anyway, perhaps we should put this one through the AoN, to promote our party's democratic side. I don't see there being much opposition to it. We could introduce it as phase 1 of a wider Political parties Forum Rejuvenation.

That seems right to me, and I suppose saving it is the right way. Who knows what 10ki historians will need in the future, right? I like the idea of putting this through the AoN, the more stuff that goes through there the better I think.

Hey ALF, I'm way ahead of you man...in fact, I had Grub create an archive for the older Political party docs...deal is, I must now do the transferring of the older docs there.
( Let it be known that I personally ALREADY transferred over 200 docs from the 64 page long 10000islands board to various sundry other depts.)
As said in the Senate offices Dec. report, Co9 has been working at a general overhaul clean up of the XKI forum. Because I've been one of the Co9's most ardent advocates of forum clean-up, (Sinn can vouch for me on this) the RESPONSIBILITY for carrying out the clean up has fallen largely on my shoulders. What with preparing/compiling history docs, mediating for AoN, attempting to not be an emissarial slacker and helping out w/ XKI immigration and educ. (to say nothing of being appointed warden of the T.I.Jail) I just haven't been able to attend to EVERYTHING yet, but, I'm trying...In any case, let it be known that your concern re. political parties board clean up WILL be attended to, k?
Lastly, Sinn, do you think ANOTHER subboard exclusively for UPP related historical docs should be created, or is it OK for me to move them to the general political parties archive subboard?

I can probably help. I have admin powers too. I suggest old UPP stuff that is no longer politically sensitive should go in a general pot of oldness...
