Thanks for asking me to do this, Gilda. It's an honor.

1. I am originally from California. Born in Santa Monica (in the same hospital Britney had her first kid), moved to Los Gatos when I was 4 (about 45 minutes south of San Francisco), and moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico when I was 9. Been there since. I go to university at the University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque, which is an hour south of Santa Fe. UNM, University Near Mom, they call it. But, it's a good school.

2. My duties as a Golden Nation are simple: be active, and spam. I'm pretty sure I was selected because of my immense spamming skills, and I intend to prove to those who chose me as the second Golden Nation that they made a good choice.

3. My favorite vacationing spot would have to be the California coast. My girlfriend and I took a 2-week roadtrip up the coast highway in August. It was beautiful. Pebble Beach and 17 Mile Drive was amazing, as is my former hometown, Los Gatos. I don't know why we ever left. I'll live there again one day.

If not California, I'd have to say Arizona. There's an unearthly beauty in the desert.

4. If I could only do one thing for the rest of my life, I'd be a high-end clothing retailer. There is no greater indulgence then wearing well-made clothes. I love it.

Yes, Boo, you can buy me a fish as a present, but only if it comes from Jeff's Jeans. I intend to graduate in August of 2008 with a bachelor's degree in Political Science, concentration in American Politics, with a minor in Economics.

What occupation do you intend to take after graduating?

That's a tough question. I haven't really thought of it, to be quite honest. I have been looking at jobs, very recently, in the UN, but those are extremely competitive and usually require a Master's. The most likely course of action after graduating will be moving in with my girlfriend of a year and three months, settling down in whatever decent job I can get for a while, then hitting up Law School, or a grad school for a Master's in International Studies or something similar.

That is an understatement.

Jobs in the UN requires bare minimum a doctorate. And you need to already have prior (entry-level) experience with large non-profits, think-tanks, government agencies or MNCs. They never hire fresh grads even if they come from very top schools.

There is one exception however. Sometimes they lower the standards for people who come from extremely under-represented countries. But these lucky people are usually from Africa or some pacific island nation...

(I did some research several years ago and entertained the idea for a little bit, but gave up).

Trofim Lysenko...Well I think you're right about him, Enig. He was not a true scientist, and as such, deserved none of the national acclaim he received under Stalin's government. Cheers to the scientists who came out against him after Stalin died. I was particular displeased at Lysenko for denouncing Gregor Mendel's work in genetics...Mendel is a hero.

Hmm. Well that puts a damper on that idea. Thanks for sparing me the embarrassment. Maybe one day I'll have the experience and education necessary for a job in the UN, but that time is not now. I'll just have to settle into a cushy job until I can get my hands on some money for Law School.

Yes, yes I did. The cat population was higher than the human population. Not really, but it's a beautiful little town just south of San Jose. My girlfriend and I visited on our road trip, and she fell in love with it, and I re-fell in love with it. A little on the expensive side, but it's a beautiful place to live: there is no end to the trees, the air is 100% unpolluted, or as close as you can come nowadays, and the people are nicer than anywhere else. Granted, it's a yuppie town, and everyone goes to the Farmer's Market and walks/runs/bikes their dogs around town, but still my first choice to settle down.

If by 'originate' you mean 'conceived and born' then I am from California. I am currently living in the UK for one semester of Uni. I go back home to New Mexico in the middle of January to finish school, hopefully by August.

Just need to clarify AD's comment about the UN. It's not what you know, it's who you know. If you know the right people, you'd get a job easy right out of school. I never was interested in the UN but a good friend of mine got a job in May after he graduated with his B.A. because of a professor we had who had enormous ties to the UN.

I disagree with cronyism. I'm all for making the United States a meritocracy. While I'd still be out of a job in AD's scenario, the better person for the job would still get it. I'm not trying to say anything bad about your friend, but because of his professor, someone more qualified than he did not get the job. Granted, a meritocracy would inevitably lead to aristocracy and elitism, so I'm still trying to work out the kinks of implementation.
