Get the company shareholders to sack all the CEO's, executives, top managers and get some new ones. Then give the car companies money. Otherwise it will continue to be even worse.

If a worker doesn't like the conditions, he doesn't have to work there.
Provided he/she is in a sufficient financial position to be 'picky' about where they work. How many people do you think are in that position at the moment Estay?
If you can't get the perfect job, next best thing is to make your current job as perfect as possible - hence, unions.
Anywho.... I believe one of the big three already filed chapter 11 not too long ago (Ford wasn't it?) yet are still trading. All three could probably do it but I don't see how that is going to fix anything, much like a bailout - all those tax dollars will do is fall into the bottomless pit of debt these companies seem to continuously build for themselves.
Best bet is to go bankrupt (again) and hope some foreign investiment comes in to pick up the pieces... what? works for us, Japan is closer than the US after all ;D
we should help out in some of the problems they are having, but also we should make the high up in each companies take massive pay cuts. for years they have been getting these bonuses of multi millions each quarter. in fact none of them should be making so much well the companies are folding under. make them flip their money back to the companies they work for and bring back the great old car ideas they use to have. instead of having American car companies try to copy the aisan cars or european vehicles. we need to have our companies make the good old cars of yesteryear.

No. The government should not help automakers. Yes, it would be bad if a major automaker failed (jobs, infrastructure, etc), but if they produce a bad product that no one wants, let them fail.
