I've smoked before in my past, but I still voted no. When I see people who regularly smoke pot, I also see a lack of drive and motivation. They often do nothing to better themselves, just chillax and smoke a bowl. I'd hate to see the national ramifications of smoking becoming federally legal.
The question was 'have you ever' not 'do you condone'
I smoked a ton in my youth but I've given it up and don't support legalizing it.

You do realize that this post is over a year old and made during my first few days on this forum? But as for your answer, my answer is much the same. I smoked when I was younger and don't anymore. I also do not support legalizing it.

I've never smoked anything, and never will. I just find it disgusting. I support decriminalizing marijuana though, that would probably work better than any kind of war on drugs.

What a bunch o' nerds, get some o' this ganja man. i have never smoked marijuana, but it shouldnt be criminalised. The only negatives are poor teeth and lung cancer, but that didnt stop cigarettes. If anything, tobacco is *much* worse than cannabis. If everyone who smoked tobacco switched to werd, i think the world would be a slightly better place.

hmm, a weed debate thread. I'm bored and not really tired so why not. Firstly: I have smoked it and I support legalizing it. I think it's one of the fastest ways to clean up American jails and put a big dent into prison overcrowding. Weed doesn't need to be in the same category as heroin when it comes to drugs and I think it's ridiculous how scared people are of weed when alcohol and tobacco are arguably more dangerous, especially alcohol in that you can overdose and put yourself in some real danger very easily. This isn't to say I think we need prohibition, in fact I think American alcohol laws are similarly archaic and completely inane. People need to know their limits and having the drinking age at 21 only makes it more likely that people will binge drink before that. But I digress. Tobacco and related products have so much added crap in them that they definitely do more damage to your lungs than weed does. Not that weed has many long-term benefits, just that if we're comparing it to alcohol it might actually be less dangerous in some regards.
Personally, I find smoking weed to be a little strange and i only do it occasionally. I will never, ever be a stoner and I have to be in the right place for it to have any kind of positive feeling. It does very psychedelic-y things to me and if the environment isn't right it's basically like a bad trip - my hands feel numb and I get very anxious and almost panicky. I still have had positive experiences, as do most people, and I find it to be a good way to get to know yourself and your limits. Knowing your limits is so important and all this fearmongering about the really bad drugs has caused the attitudes around the less-bad ones to get so negative, and that has ended up causing unsafe use of said less-bad drugs. That's when they get bad. Basically, banning something or putting it so far out of reach often just glorifies it. It's why so-called "dry campuses" often have way more problems with binge drinking, AND refuse to acknowledge it because the campus is "dry." Thus the problem escalates.
Have fun, but be safe y'all.
tl;dr rant about drug culture and why banning things glorifies them and how weed should be legal and the drinking age in the US should be lower
