Harry Bond: Hello and welcome to Omnaria for the deciding game between the Ananke Thorny Flowers (2-2) and the Omnaria High Technocrats (2-2). This has been a thrilling series, with each game being decided by small ball.
Jantis Bond: A great majority of these games have, indeed, been decided by 2 or fewer runs. Tonight’s starters will be Ponder Stibbons (7-5 Career, 0-0 Postseason, 1.46 Career ERA), the only pitcher on the Thorny Flowers with a winning record, for the Thorny Flowers and John Freeman (3-7 Career, 0-0 Postseason, 1.14 Career ERA). If the Thorny Flowers win tonight, it’ll be the first upset of the postseason.
Harry Bond: Cue the highlight reel!
It was the top of the 2nd. Foul Ol’ Ron was on third base and Twoflower was at the plate. Harry Bond had the call.
Harry: The infield is playing in. There goes the runner! The pitch…ground ball…oh! It eats him up and the only play will be at 1st. The Thorny Flowers now have a 1-0 lead.
It was the bottom of the 2nd. Mustardear was at the plate with nobody on. Jantis Bond had the call.
Jantis: The pitch…swung on and hit deep! WAY BACK! Jumping at the wall…GONE! A homerun for Mustardear and the game is tied at 1!
But the Thorny Flowers would answer right back.
Harry: The pitch…clobbered! BACK AND GONE! A homerun for The Librarian and it’s now 2- 1 Thorny Flowers!
The Librarian would pour it on in the top of the fifth.
Jantis: The pitch…line drive, HOMERUN! And it’s now 3-1 Thorny Flowers!
It was the top of the 7th. Vetinari was at the plate with a runner on. Harry had the call.
Harry: The pitch…hit deep! WAY BACK AND GONE! It’s now 5-1 Thorny Flowers!
And that’s ball for Midnight, Sunday Morning, July 11th, 2010. The Ananke Thorny Flowers defeated and eliminated the Omnaria High Technocrats, 5-1. For the Thorny Flowers, there were 5 runs on 5 hits and 0 errors; the High Technocrats had 1 run on 5 hits and 1 error. Ponder Stibbons gets the win and goes to 1-0 on the postseason, 8-5 on his career. John Freeman gets the loss and finishes 0-1 on the postseason, 3-8 on his career.
