Just want to let everyone know I'm here from The West Pacific on a friendly visit. I have not come in an official capacity, not looking for treaties to sign or even diplomatic recognition. I just believe our two regions share similar values, and may have some other things in common. I'll be happy to answer any questions about TWP as best I can, and I'll quickly say "I don't know" if I don't.
Currently our military is deployed in the Rejected Realms defending Kandarin against the invader g0thicville
Many of our prominent citizens are also Senators of the Meritocracy, but the recent tensions between Unistrut & Argyres and between Old Lutheran & crazygirl may have, well, an unpredictable effect. Too early to tell.
Philosophically, I would say we are aligned with the defenders' cause, but I can't imagine TWP ever being as active as TITO in actual defense operations -- except of course the members of TWP that are in the ADN Military.
I was referring in my last post to the fact that sometimes the ambassadors write really long paragraphs and not only one, but a bunch so I'll sit here and think... "wow. or not." Good job! So since you're just visiting, how do you like the region so far? What do you think 10000 Islands has in common with TWP? Are you here just to be here basically?

IMNSHO, TWP & TITO are on the side of the good guys, though that means slightly different things for the two regions.
TITO hand in hand with ADN and ALL uses military power to defend what is called RL "the right of all people to self-determination." In game terms, that translates to being a leader among the Defenders.
Being a good guy for TWP means something different. There are those of us that are quite active in the ADN military and AIA, but those numbers are really miniscule in a region of nearly 7500 nations. It amounts to almost token involvement, really. This is not what I would consider ideal, but it is what it is.
TWP's primary contribution to the cause of the good guys, we fervently hope, has been the establishment of a genuine participatory democracy in a feeder region, and the defense of that participatory democracy as a cherished institution. We all know this is not an automatic state of affairs. Countless man-hours have gone into the composition and enactment of our current Constitution. In our system, really unique in the Pacifics, our Delegate holds no executive power excpet the minimum given him by game mechanics. Instead, his top priority is the office of "Defender of the Constitution," which allows the aforementioned participatory democracy to function.
Lest this sound revoltingly self-absorbed, it is our hope that we may be able to share our experience with this experiment with other regions that aspire to the same. Furthermore, we have twice now hosted and mediated conflict resolution conferences between feuding regions. The results are noathing to brag about, believe me, but we hope to gain experience and subsequently expertise in this area.
I will addresss your other questions in another post. My secretary just buzzed me.
