For those of you who are new to the game you should probably expect to get flooded with these recruiting telegrams over the course of the next day or so unless you move out of the region you were founded in.
I would like to cordially invite you to check out [region]10000 Islands[/region] and decide for yourself if it is the region for you. Everyone would have you believe that their region is the best so how can you know for sure? To decide which the best region for your nation is, you need to decide what you’d like to get out of playing NationStates. Even if you just want to run your country and not get involved in any other aspect of the game your choice of a regional home can impact you. Many other regions place restrictions on how you run your country or what religion you must adopt, not so with us. We leave the running of your country in your hands because, after all, that’s the whole point of playing.
[region]10000 Islands[/region] is one of the oldest and most prestigious in NationStates, and as a member, I can honestly tell you that I wouldn’t be sending you this telegram if I didn’t think it was absolutely the best. There is something for everyone, from the usual politics to role playing, from literature in our regional magazine to meeting new friends in our chat room.
Upon joining us, you will receive a Welcome Box containing a prize that will be awarded once you hit 30 days on our forum, as well as 500 Tacos, our regional form of currency.
We also offer a 10000 Islands business community, stocks, a lottery, a map to place your nation on and fill with various industries, a buddy system to help newcomers learn the finer aspects of the game and much, much more.
We are best known as the home of the Ten thousand Islands Treaty Organization (TITO), a group of nations that has banded together to defend other regions from invasive attacks. It was founded several years ago after our region was attacked without cause. Since then, we have moved with swift action to the defense of over 1500 other regions that have been invaded by bands of roving thugs.
We have a strong regional government made up of the Council of Nine. The Council of Nine is composed of our Founder ([nation]Grub[/nation]), the Delegate (currently [nation]Markanite[/nation]), four Senators, and three Ministers of governmental departments. Senate elections are held every two months and are open to any nation who wishes to join the World Assembly.
While joining the regional forum is voluntary, I highly recommend it. You’ll find NationStates itself to be rather mundane after a while because all you can really do is make a few choices per day on how to run your own country. The game itself hosts its own forum, but I’ve found that it pales in comparison to the one run by our region because we offer so much more than just politics.
I chose 10000 Islands and I haven’t regretted it one bit. I don’t think you would either, but if you decide it isn’t for you, you’re always free to move again.
