Red, the primary color, represents the majority Xan ethnicity of the Empire as well as the bloody struggles of the Kannexan people in the last two centuries. Yellow, the secondary color, is a reminder of tradition, a symbol of the monarchy, a representation of the bountiful earth, and the Buddhist color for freedom from earthly desires. The enlightening bright sun is at the center, above a valley and below a three-star constellation, all reflecting Daoist perceptions of the cosmos. The bow-shaped pair of fât (fât1) signs represents the Empire's power to distinguish between right and wrong. Lastly, the four Daoist trigrams pushing outwards from the center represent the four cardinal directions and seasons, symbolizing the Empire's permanence and power.
