Congrats to Markanite in your election victory. Also, congrats to our run-off candidates for enduring and providing a show for the voters!
And congratulations to the candidates that were not able to obtain office. Take it from someone who has lost a couple senate and delegate races: there's a ton to be learned from the XKI political experience.
To those that will not be serving in the senate, I ask that you not lose your visions for the region, and to never give up the resolve to dedicate service to XKI. I have always been a firm believer that the citizen has as much power as any elected official. We're free to collaborate on our ideas and suggest them to the Co9, and our influence can be just as strong.
I know it sucks to lose, but that's never a reason to give up. If anything, you've been given a reason to fight harder.
Make suggestions. Involve yourselves in conversations. Make this region better for those that are already here as well as for those that have yet to arrive. No election will ever tell you that you can't do that.

Very astute words, Shiz. I lost a very close record breaking election last fall, and I was going to sit out the process this time around. But, as you so aptly put it, if anything, losing an election provides you with wisdom, experience, and the impetus to fight harder.
I don't want to say too much more while the runoff is ongoing, except to reiterate my wishes of good luck to Valoniah.
