Thank you 10,000 Islands for all your warm well wishes and heartfelt concern for my well being. It was a rough end to 2018, and unexpectedly at that. My health declined rapidly after a busy year, and with it my time, energy, and attention. I am doing better slowly and looking forward rejoining and being more active in the islands in the coming weeks and months as my strength and focus returns. For now I am glad to have you all as friends and family whose support has meant so much to me during the rough times. Your kind words made my day, and gave me hope that I might be well enough to come back and be here with you again. I want to congratulate Markanite for stepping in at the Ministry of Education in my absence. I am happy to see the seat return to such a great Islander. I also want to congratulate Sargon Reman for his appointment to the Regional Reserve. I am looking forward to all the new energy you will bring to the role — and what an amazing start it has been. Lastly, I cannot thank Woonsocket enough for all the encouragement and faith he has given me, and for trying his best to work around my condition. I cannot say how much it has meant to me knowing that he has been there for me. Thank you my friend, you were an anchor and safe harbor in dark times. |

Good evening.
I make this announcement with a bittersweet heart.
As of now, I am officially leaving the 10,000 Islands. I’ve put a lot of thought into this over the last bit of time, and I feel this is the best option.
With the climate the way it currently is, I don’t believe it’s healthy or preferable for me to remain here. I believe that, for the time being at any rate, it’s time I remove myself from the region, until such a time as things become more balanced, more fair, and more accepting of those who are outside the norm.
Four years ago, five years in March, I was a senior in high school, and was introduced to this game by my brother. The moment I joined, I received a telegram from Grub, inviting me to join the region to beat all regions, and I leapt at the opportunity. I’ve only ever known the XKI, and have never resided as an independent citizen in any other region these four and a half years, since the founding of my First Nation. Now, it’s time for me to go.
I want to thank all of you, for being there for me and becoming some of my closest friends during times when I didn’t have very many at all. I want to thank you all for the opportunities granted to me, from becoming a knight, to serving as a recruiter and buddy, to serving over four years in various seats on the senate and even the delegate seat. It’s all been invaluable to me, and memories I will cherish forever.
I want to reconfirm my dedication to the ideals of this region, to helping those in need, to doing no harm. And to fighting back against those who harm innocent people. Wherever I go, I assure you, we will never meet on the battlefield as enemies. I hold you all as my dear friends, and wish you all the best of luck in defeating raiders and evildoers wherever they may rise.
It’s funny; it feels like yesterday that I came to this forum for the first time, during my first period health class senior year, timidly, worried about hacking or viruses. I still remember how it felt to fill out the regional application, and to post in the welcome thread for the first time. So long ago, there’s no way I would’ve ever seen the finality of this moment, the antithesis of that fateful day. I still remember where I was when I filed my TITO application, on my grandparents’ farm, having just ridden their four wheeler to the far side of their property just to be out of the house, the summer sun beating down and roasting the area. I believe I was out there when the application was accepted as well. So much time, time I’m proud to have spent here.
I want to leave you all with this final thought- a thought brought on by being in this single region for almost half a decade- a quote from my ancestor Mary Queen of Scots, and adapted to fit the situation; look to your consciences and remember that the theatre of the world is wider than the realm of the XKI.
