Sign Up: Constructing a Language Course

In this course, I will guide you through creating a constructed language (conlang), which you could do for fun, for RP purposes, anything. I'll take you through different topics within languages, which will be mostly grammar, but I'll also give you pointers on how certain languages deal with certain (grammatical) problems.

For this course, you'll be primarily working by yourself. The homework is basically 'incorporate this week's lesson into your language'. I might ask you to look some things up, or to check each others languages.

I'm a student of Linguistics, very interested in foreign languages (Native: Dutch. Advanced: English. Intermediate: French, German, Japanese. On and off learning: Esperanto, Welsh, Sindarin, Mandarin Chinese) and constructed languages. Currently, I have about one more or less finished language, but a few more that are far from done (though I doubt one of them will ever be finished).

I won't be teaching a language I invented, I'll be teaching you how to create your own language without reinventing English (or whatever your native language is. I guess in your case, It'd be Italian) or quitting halfway from a lack of inspiration or something. I better clear this up in the thread title, if I still can

Also, I can read Latin (with a dictionary). I tend to be able to figure out everyday things written in Italian =D
