*under The 25th Hunger Games arena. Haymitch and Katniss stand together, the latter about to enter the Hunger Games arena*
Katniss: Okay Haymitch, run this all by me again.
Haymitch: It's simple Kat. We're busting you outta there . . . at least, the Non-Career ones of you. You are the Mockingjay. The people's symbol of hope. We need you to find as many allies as possible, and protect them. We have men on the inside who will help protect them, though you may lose them at the start of the Games. The Capital have made this very difficult for us by hiding all the tribute's identities from each other, but I have a away around that.
Katniss: And what is that exactly?
Haymitch: This *hands Katniss a piece of paper, identifying the other tributes*
Katniss: Haymitch, they'll never let me into the arena holding this.
Haymitch: Slip it inside your clothes, preferably around somewhere private. The cameras don't tend to show tributes "evacuating their bowels", shall we say.
Katniss: Right . . . could you turn around for a minute?
*approximately two minutes later, the call came for tributes to enter the tubes that would take them into the arena*
Haymitch: Good luck Katniss, and remember: get yourself a bow, and show no mercy to your enemies. And try to keep killing. The Gamemasters might get bored if you don't.
*Katniss rose into the arena, which this year was . . . a very thick jungle. There was no way to see to the tributes on either side, though the Cornucopia stood in the middle of a clearing, no doubt in view of all the tributes. There was a bow, right in the clearing around the Cornucopia. The question: go for it or not? The horn sounded for the start of The Hunger Games, the decision: grab the bow and run like hell. Other tributes were already in the clearing when Katniss got there. Some were fighting over supplies, some were already dead. Katniss paid no attention as she grabbed her weapon of choice and got outta there. Back under the over of trees, she found the tallest one she could that was climbable. Once she was high enough, she waited. Hours passed, and eventually the cannon blasts started. 10 of them. That means that there are only 14 tributes left. Time to play the Games.*
Welcome to The Hunger Games arena everyone. I'm your Gamemaster, Free Guns For All. First, allow me to recap the roles:
Good Guys
The good guys are all the Non-Career Tributes (Tributes from District 3, and 5 to 12). Specific names are listed below:
1 Seer (Katniss)
* Katniss has been informed by Haymitch that a plan has been set in motion to bust all Non-Career Tributes out of the arena. Katniss must find as many Non-Career Tributes as possible, team up with them, and kill the Career Tributes.
* The way this is done is, during each Night Phase, she contacts me with a player, and I reveal who it is.
Defenders (Peeta, Thresh)
* Have also been informed of the escape plan. Have been told to defend the other contestants so that as many of them as possible can escape.
* The role works the same way as Katniss: they contact me with the person they want to defend
Other Tributes (Beetee, Wiress, Foxface, Blight, Johanna, Cecilia, Rue)
* Basically villagers. Know about the plan to break them out, and will try to kill Careers during the day. No special powers at night.
Bad Guys
The bad guys are all the Career Tributes (Tributes from Districts 1, 2 and 4). Specific names are listed below:
* Marvel, Glimmer, Cato, Clove
* The Careers kill the good guys the same way Katniss scans and the defenders defend.
Now, as for the cruel twist: The Gamemasters will get bored if someone isn't killed each day phase. As a result, every time no-one dies in a day phase I will add a little bit of 'fun' (for me, probably hell for you) to the game. I might reveal someone's identity, I might give someone invincibility for a little while, I could do something else. The point is: this will be as close to the real Hunger Games as I can get it. The first day phase is exempt from this rule, so you can no vote today with no consequences. A player cannot be lynched unless they get over 50% of the votes.
The game is one when either a) all Careers are dead, or b) the number of Careers is equal to or greater than the number of other players. Anyone who doesn't post for two consecutive day phases is considered boring by the Gamemaker, and will be killed off. Also, like in the real Hunger Games, there will be a 'feast' (a special event) when we get down to six players (if the game's still going). Okay, that's about everything.
