About the game: First, it's not quite like Risk, it's more of a Risk-Civilization hybrid. Like in Risk you can acquire troops based on the regions you hold; like Civilizations movement is less restrictive, cities produce coin, troops cost coin. There's a tutorial that goes over the basics but just like Risk and Civ this game is built around tactics and strategy. The game is free to play but does require Flash and Microsoft Silverlight. It works on Windows, Mac, and Linux but not Chrome oddly enough.
There's an option to build a coalition(clan/community) so if the game is all it is chalked up to be we could do that, it does require a fairly large amount of experience points, but I have a pretty good amount.
You can check the game out for yourself, here.
I recommend looking at some of the FAQ or at least the basic information if you have the time:

I may have copied everything from CL. Possibly.
This game will be set in the War of the Ring. Participants will choose a group to play (Gondor, the Elves, Saruman, etc.) and will be given all their territories. Teams will be set automatically, and there is a limit of 10 players. If more want to join I'll start a new game.

It is a turn based game, the length of a turn would be 24hrs. Everyone has the same 24 hr period to plot their troop movements, after the turn has ended everybody's movements go into effect and a new round begins.
Rounds end after 24 hours or when all players have selected the 'end turn' button, so to be clear 24 hours is the maximum length of a round.
Troop movement: you can move you troops by clicking-and-holding on the dot on the map and dragging it, that's the fastest way to move a group of soldiers at the same time. The other way is clicking on the dot so it opens a menu that shows the amount and type of units, then you use the sliders to select how many of each type you want to move.
A circle shows up on the map representing the range of movement. You can make multiple moves within that circle so if there's an obstacle, like water, you can move around it or flank troops. It's important to decide who you want to move first as the actual movements are all done at the end of the turn in a sort of draft order.
Here is an example to show how movements work: I move 1 soldier from North-East to South-East Australia and one other soldier from North-East Australia to Central Australia. My North-East to South-East move will be processed first, then Players, X,Y and Z's first moves will be processed, then my second move, etc. So it's important to prioritize the order of your troop movements, because if I try attack someone heading towards one of my cities as my second move, and his attack is his first move, his troops will pass mine. I hope that makes sense, I'm kind of le tired at the moment.
If anyone else wants to sign up just post a comment or send me a pm. If you've played the game before and/or have ideas on how the game should be set up comment away.
Otherwise just lounge away.
