Welcome to Vault 48!
Welcome to the Vault-Tec family! Buried deep under the earth and behind walls of 5 feet of solid concrete, we can honestly say that you're safe from even a direct nuclear strike!
Unfortunately, while you may have been able to avoid death due to global nuclear warfare, danger still exists! Some of your fellow vault residents appear to have obtained access to the safety of Vault 48 through illicit means! Evidence suggests that these infiltrators are nothing more the Chinese sympathizers here to finish the work started with the bombs!
Regretfully, a glitch in the vault's record system is preventing us from identifying which members are the infiltrators. Further, the glitch has corrupted our systems in a way that we are unable to publicly state each residents role in the community. It's up to you, the residents of Vault 48, to stamp out this threat so we can prepare for the future!
Rules for living in Vault 48:
- Every day, the residents of Vault 48 will meet to choose a member to send to Vault-Tec's state-of-the-art "Lose Your Nasty Communist Habits"(LYNCH) Chamber.
- Failure to elect a resident for any reason will cause vault systems to select 1 resident at random to send to the LYNCH Chamber, except on the first day.
- Vault residents are victorious when the Communist threat has been purged.(All Infiltrators are dead)
- The infiltrators are victorious when they are at least tied with the number of remaining vault residents.
- Dead residents should not talk beyond a customary "Farewell" message.
The Roles:
The Overseer - The leader of the vault. The Overseer is elected during the first day phase, and names their successor in case they are killed. The Overseer has the authority to break a tied lynch vote. The Overseer may also override a forced system lynch, but only once. New Overseers do not regain the ability to override a forced lynch.
Camera Operator - The Operator has access to all of the vault's electronic monitoring systems. The Operator can hear and see everything, but can only choose one room to observe at a time. Once a night, the Operator can choose to scan another vault resident to learn their role.
Security Officer - The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining law and order in the vault, resorting to violence only when necessary. The Security Officer is carrying a loaded handgun, but only has one bullet. During the night phase the Security Officer can choose another resident to defend from the Infiltrators, but may not defend the same person consecutively. The Security Officer may also choose a target to kill during a night phase, but they may only use this power once.
Technician - The Vault Technician is responsible for general maintenance over the vault's hydraulic systems. Specifically, the Technician can rig all of the doors in Vault 48 to remain locked during a night phase, blocking all night moves. The Technician may use their power 1 time.
Since this locks everybody in their rooms, single-use powers are not consumed.
Infiltrators - Members of the vault are not who they say they are! These residents are sympathetic to the Chinese war effort and aim to continue the war even after the start of the nuclear holocaust. During the night phase, the Infiltrators work together to target one resident for elimination.
Vault Residents - These residents mostly fill service roles in the vault, such as cooking and cleaning. They must work together to successfully LYNCH the Infiltrators.
Day and Night Phases, and more rules:
- Each day phase will last up to 48 hours, but can be ended earlier under the right circumstances.
- Each night phase will last up to 24 hours.
- Residents with power roles must send their order in the Private Message to Shizensky- The order of requests does not matter - they will all go through.
