We are extremely proud to announce the establishment of The XKI Casino and the Grand Opening of the Aersoldorf Lounge!

Friendly institutional taco wagering in 10000 Islands is now under the umbrella of the newly established XKI Casino. The casino's premiere lounge and gathering place for its patrons is named after The Father and Major Benefactor of The XKI Lottery, as well as the current Mayor of Taco Island - Aersoldorf! Without Hizzoner's dedicated hard work and consistent effort over the years in promoting and sustaining the XKI Lottery, there is no question but that today's XKI Casino would never have come about. Thank you, Mr. Mayor!

This thread – “Aersoldorf Lounge” – will serve as the location for any Casino patrons to make suggestions or comments upon how the XKI Casino is being run, as well as what games, sporting events, or other propositions they would like to see offered, or to just sit back and wax philosophically over stuff. The games, themselves, like The XKI Lottery, will still be conducted and played within their own threads.

By way of a little legislative history and to give some idea of what kind of wagering opportunities we can offer, you should know that The XKI Casino was created by the Council of Nine pursuant to passage of “The XKI Casino Act”. In effect, this Act expanded the number and types of games, sporting wagers, and betting propositions, far beyond that which could be offered by The XKI Lottery alone. In substance, the Act provides the following authority and limitations:

"• The XKI Casino may offer the wagering of tacos on any subjects or matters the moderators deem appropriate, including but not necessarily limited to, any lotteries, games, or other propositions.

"• No subject matter may be wagered upon that is: (1) related to the official functions of the Founder, TITO, or Council of Nine; (2) related to the election, appointment, or conduct of any XKI official, or to his or her political or regional policies and decisions; (3) deemed to be offensive or unduly personal in nature, or; (4) otherwise considered to be inappropriate for wagering by a moderator."

As you can see, wagering of tacos in 10000 Islands has now entered an exciting new era with the creation of the XKI Casino. The XKI Lottery remains the centerpiece of taco-wagering, but is now part of a larger gaming community that can provide additional opportunities for Islanders to throw away win many Tacos.

Soooo... I was thinking about offering a game on German Basketball (Sorry, it's the only Sport I'm even a little interested in). I realise most of you don't know anything about Basketball in Germany but it might be fun and it's only Tacos.

Is anyone interested in that? Because I won't work on it if nobody plays

Louisistan, I'll admit to knowing zero about German basketball, and there isn't anything in the USA papers for me to draw from.

But if you think you could drum up some interest and want the Casino to offer something let me know and we can talk about how you think we might be able to do it. Of course, you can always do stuff privately, like Aerso & I just did on an American football game.

I've been thinking of how to do a 'scratch off' type game. Perhaps it could be accomplished using the dice add-on. Still trying to hammer out the details, but wanted some input.

Well, seeing that once you post with dice they can't be changed, maybe each person could pay x tacos and receive a payment depending on what they role. e.g. players might each role 3 dice, anyone who roles a triple or three numbers in a row gets a big payout, anyone who roles a double gets their money back and if you don't get either you lose.

I think it would be best if the casino itself performed the roll for the player. While it's true that you can't edit a post to change your roll, you can delete the post and re-post with a new roll

Ah, good point. Also, if the casino makes the post it means more than one person can bet on each one easily.

true, but if we're aiming for the 'scratch off' feel then it should be personal - 1 ticket for 1 person.

the person could post their intent to purchase a scratch off and send in the donation. The casino account could then perform the roll the next time they're online and tag the purchaser in the same post.

Unfortunately, there is yet another way to manipulate the dice that doesn't involve deleting and re-posting. I'm not going to say what that is, but it's not very hard to do or eventually figure-out.

As far as adding a dice game, again I think you guys have been reading my mind. I've had a chance to give it some thought and I'm pretty close to rolling it out. The nice thing about it is that the casino (or myself or anyone else) doesn't have to roll the dice to determine the winner.

I also like the lines you guys are pursuing too, and I'll add my 2-tacos worth when I've thought about it for a bit.

Nothing wrong with having a couple (or more) dice games for folks to chose from, right?
