Middle Earth Embassy Update - March 2015
Greetings everyone! This is the first of what I hope will be many monthly updates on activities in Middle Earth. February marked an unusual level of activity for our region, with a number of new embassies established, as well as a slew of other happenings. I'll go into a few details about each in the following paragraphs.
Current Government King & WA Delegate - Dor Caranthir Lord Steward - Celebrimbor High Chancellor - Neo Dragon Master Wizard - Inglor Felagund Lord / Lady of Scrolls - Vacant Royal Ambassador - The Lady of Lorien
Embassies & Ambassadors Obviously the most significant event was the opening of this very embassy with 10000 Islands. We're very proud and honoured to be a part of the XKI community. February also marked the announcement of a few other embassy openings: Gondor, The Land of Middle Earth, Nations of Middle Earth and Mines of Moria (technically opened in March, but requested in february).
Drawing inspiration from this very forum subsection, we are currently in the process of selecting a number of official Ambassadors. Aside from an Ambassador to XKI, we are also hoping to have an Ambassador for our embassies with Mordor and the Global Right Alliance. Whether this can lure the somewhat Ent-ish inhabitants of Middle Earth out of their slumbering pseudo-activity remains to be seen!
Artist Galleries Since one of the things we like to do most in Middle Earth is to discuss all things Tolkien, we launched a new feature through Dispatches. Each week we highlight an artist that has drawn inspiration from Tolkien's writings by featuring some of their work in a dispatch, as well as providing links to further information about the artist. These have proven to be sparking conversations, and I hope that it's a feature that many natives and foreigners alike will enjoy, whether they choose to comment on it or not.
New, regular polls One of the things we have had great success with in the past, but which has since fallen by the wayside, are Tolkien-themed polls that typically end up drawing in anywhere between 20 and 50 votes. Alongside the launch of the Artist Gallery, we reintroduced regular polls to further encourage regional activity. As has always been the case, anyone is more than welcome to drop by and vote if the poll interests them, and we welcome comments and input from our friends and allies through the Embassy Posting feature.

Greetings, friends and allies in 10000 Islands!
I'm very happy to be able to invite you to join us for our new RPG. It is the relaunch of an old, forum-based RPG that was played offsite, but which has now been updated to a more "modern" form. If you'd like to take a look at the older versions (we played a total of six "ages"), you can find them here: z11.invisionfree.com/MiddleEarth/index.php?s=46bd9affb46f7f1d521afcfb7c2f4d13&showforum=7 (I hope you can see them without registering, as I'm not sure you can register anymore).
If you'd like to read more about the RPG, you can find more information in the FAQ: middle-earth.grn.cc/faq.html - this has also been pinned to our WFE. There are no barriers of entry, anyone and everyone can join in if they're interested. New and experienced roleplayers alike. The game will run on a weekly update system, so you only really need to check in once a week to take part - although if it kicks off properly, there's likely going to be more frequent posts from the players involved.
If you know someone who's interested in LotR, roleplaying or both, please do send them a link to the FAQ to see if it's the kind of thing they'd be interested in.
