Resistance 15: Omega Breach

"Ultimate Knowledge at an Inflated Price"

This Resistance game includes Omega Techs (Spies) and Echelon Hackers (Resistance).

Omega Corp has became the leading name in all things military technology. They rose to power by breaking down every competitor and gaining a monopoly on information, ranging from weapon schematics to launch codes, which they sell to the highest bidder.

A small underground covert operation has been established to hack into the Omega, locate there server farms, and wipe Omega clean. Omega has recently discovered Echelon's plans and have set up several spies to infiltrate Echelon during this crucial time.

Roles will be randomly assigned. I have not decided whether to have the Pass or Reject votes be public or PMed to me. I will also post the results of each mission success/fail vote; without disclosing identities.


I will provide a synopsis of each mission but i have not decided whether i will just post the Success and Fail votes or write a little about how the mission passed or failed.

The team size is 5 unless there is a big turn out for people wanting to join, then i might extend the team size.

The structure of the missions and the general story skeleton is provided by The Changeling Horde with the details filled in by myself.

Mission 1: Scout the Tower

Echelon is now ready to carry out their takedown of Omega but as everyone finishes their personal project and groups together there is a flash on the big screen.

Attention Echelon Agents! Omega has infiltrated our ranks! Continue on with the mission but be aware! Dont let our intel fall into Omega's claws! Failure to do so will result in compromising the objective and total shutdown of the Echelon division


After the alert fades off the screen your commander enters the mission room and begins the breifing.

"So, we all have heard that we have Omega spies within our ranks, we will carry on with the setup mission and speak of that later. This first mission is easy, Omega has opened their Bristol branch for a tour today only. This site is key because of the Omega server farm located within the building. This is our way of crippling Omega. Two agents will be assigned to this mission. We need to go in low-key and scout out what we can of this tower. Be discreet and abandon the mission if you are at risk."

Side Note: I have decided that the voting Allow or Fail on mission teams will be public along with a explaination if you see fit. Voting on if a mission is a Success or Failure by the people on the mission will be sent to me in a PM and i will only produce the vote count, not names.

Well this is familiar. From where I'm sitting, it's possible that both Sauron and Hahiha are resistance. However, even if one or both of them are spies the likelihood of one or both failing the first, two-person mission is relatively low. We'd immediately know where to find one spy. Failing the first mission has happened before (Barry did it a few games back) but it's still pretty unlikely. I'm leaning toward voting for this team but will hold off a bit.

Well I know I'm not spy and the first mission has a good as shot as any to go ahead, even if Hah is a spy. People generally don't fail the first mission.

I know that odds are the first round will pass regardless of who is on the mission, but as a resistance member I also know the odds are there is a spy on this team.

I will Vote: Against this mission.

I know I'm not a spy and I find the chances of Sauron being a spy 2 games in a row highly unlikely (although still very possible). I'll Vote: for my team.

As the two agents enter Omega Corp HQ for their tour, Sauron notices that the guards are eyeing him and Hahiha / USSR very closely. They both fall back to the middle of the group and continue with the tour. About halfway through the tour Hahiha / USSR motions to advance the mission and the two agents break away from the group once the tour reaches the second floor. Stealth is key, they quickly make their way down the north hallway and catch a bit of trouble, Sauron notices passcoded electronic doors. As both agents reach for their passcode breakers, they realize that not only are they missing but the essential equipment is gone.

Our agents have to turn back and abandon the mission. This mission has failed.

EDIT: I thought i put the vote count down. It was 1 Pass and 1 Fail.

Mission 2: Stealth Helicopter Assualt

Seeing as how the last misison was a failure, Central Command seen fit to uproot Echelon and move you all to a forward for better access to Omega Corp. Sitting in the Mission Briefing room everyone gets the sense that the Commander is upset, seeing as he is usually always the first to be in a briefing. Suddenly the doors swing open and the Commander storms in.

"I just had a lovely chat with Aer...the Central Command Leader. He said to dispose of the spies quickly, he doesnt want to see anymore failure. He wants 3 members on this next mission, he said apparently we cant handle this deployment. If we Foxtrot Utah this again he WILL give this assignment to Deep Longinus. We dont want Deep Longinus to take over, DO WE?"

Swiftly the Commander strides over to the screen, flicking a button on a remote. A picture of a helicopter pops up half the screen and a picture of the top of Omega Corp covers the other half.

"Three members will take this VTOL helicopter and stealthily, I SAID STEALTHILY, insert themselves into Omega Corp through the roof. This is a clear and secure mission. The three members are to simply scout the location of security cameras and place electronic jammers. Do not activate the jammers and do not take out any guards. They all wear heartrste monitors linked to the alarm system for the building. Move out and remember to keep an eye out for spies."

Well, I know that either Hah or Sauron is a bad guy (or both of them...) so we shouldn't take both of them on a mission at the same time ever.

Personally, I think that failing the first mission is more of a sneaky Sauron thing to do. I'm not sure Hah would want to fail the team he suggested, but maybe that's just what he wants me to think and he is trying to frame Sauron.

Looking at my options, I think Klop was maybe a little too eager give a reason for voting for, but I'm almost certainly reading too much into it.

As such, my team is Ater Nox, Hahiha / USSR and Witchcraft and Sorcery.

We failed? That's a pretty ballsy move Hahiha.

Well at least I definitely know this mission of Ater's will fail. I vote against Ater's mission. Hah's effectively written me out the game, playing on my reputation of being sneaky.

An interesting interplay between Ater Nox and Sauron here. Could they be working together to obscure and deceive us? I think if they were both spies they might do exactly they have done so far. Something to keep an eye on.

So here's how I see it. The chance that one spy was on the team is now 100%. It is known that either Sauron or Hahiha was a spy. Statistically and logically speaking, though, it is almost, if not entirely impossible, that both spies were on the team. If Hahiha was the spy it is unlikely that he would have taken Sauron were Sauron the other spy. If Hahiha was not a spy then Sauron was.

Despite my presence on this team, I'm voting against. The risk of a spy is too damn high.

Double posting because I misread the team. Klop wasn't on either team. That makes my entire last post invalid.

Still, I'm voting against. I'm not entirely sure of where this all stands yet. I'd rather wait a couple of cycles.
