Tryfan Jones couldn't believe his luck. After boarding the ship he'd been upgraded to first class. The poor fella had never known luxury, he'd grown up in the villages and farms around Snowdonia and like virtually everyone else there he was a Jones. He'd never really known family having been discovered near the mountain of Tryfan as a young lad, the villagers named him after the mountain. He would stay a few days at each villagers house until they were unable to feed him, they would pass him off to the next household. He'd never known stability, and had only had one bit of luck in his life when he volunteered himself to his Captain during the Great War. Expecting some dreadful task he was surprised to discover he'd been posted miles away from the trenches and was tasked with tending the horses for the duration of the war. Since the war, Tryfan had a hard life. Taking on various labourer jobs around the docks, seeking work where it could be found. Some not so honourable or legal. But that was behind him, he had saved up all he could and was now on a new journey to start a fresh.

Tryfan was not an educated man, barely able to read or write, but he had a natural intelligence. He'd spent much of his first days aboard the ship enjoying the luxurious his life had lacked. Enjoying the warm water the ready supply of food and the entertainment. This was the life he sought. He doubted anyone missed his presence during the first day, but knowing he didn't look like the other well dressed guests he'd certainly become a suspect for this murder, especially as he believed he was one of the poorest on this ship. He doubted he could get out of this one with violence, his usual way for settling any disputes amongst his peers.

Anyone want to search her cabin? Maybes we can find somethin there.

Hey she said they were men. This caused a stir, referring to Lady Penelope as a 'she' did not go down well.

This means we can rule out any women right?

OOC – RP is a lot of fun, but may not help the good guys all that much in the game. So I’ll throw out a few (over)thoughts(?). I’m assuming Ater’s trying to throw out some helpful, although vague, hints.

5 people stole Lady Penelope’s “Tiger’s Eye” diamond. Does that mean there are 5 bad guys? If so, there’s some urgency here as that would already knock the score down to 10-5… Does Lady Penelope having the “Tiger’s Eye" mean that her role is the Seer? and, if so, could the diamond’s being “stolen” last night suggest that the Seer’s scan was unsuccessful for some reason last night?

Finally, and this is a real stretch maybe. I count 8 players that created IC personalities in the pregame, most having some flaws. Perhaps Ater decided to assign the bad passenger roles to those who did not create a character? For example, his making me a bad guy is a bit much, as it yields the obvious post, “The butler did it”. *looks at ponem *

Bottom line, I’ll likely vote later to make someone walk the plank this phase (especially due to us maybe only having a 10-5 advantage), randomly choosing one from those without an IC description. I think those passengers include Boltor, Echo, Hahiha, Mark, Ponem, Random and Tanz. But I'd like to hear from other passengers.

In his pockets you find his ticket, a pen and a pocket watch. Louis's wallet appears to be missing.

To steal the tigers eye could have many motives, but combined with taking a man's wallet, a man whose identity we already know, they need money and I must say a dear lot of it if the tiger's eye were not enough in it's own right.

"Mister Jonas, I'l join you to inspect the lady's quarters, perhaps we shall find something missing. They don't seem to have thought Lady Whitehall would be any danger, or they would have knocked her out as well. If they didn't think she was of any concern, they likely would not have brought the blunt object with them and been force to use something they found on the scene when Louis surprised them."

((OOC: Barry, I doubt Lady Whitehall is the seer. Ater Nox controls her and would have to much influence over the outcome if he chose who the seer inspected each night. However, if we discover that she is (or even that she is some other role) then 10-5 is not correct, as we would then need to account for the other NPCs: 15-5.

And a point of order: Ater Nox very specifically stated that there is no walking the plank today. Might as well count it as 9-5.

"May I have a moment of your time? I was asked to deliver these documents to the Police Authority in Australia by my friend who is a Police Officer, after looking at them I have founded something..."

"I suspect these criminals to be members of The Werewolves, a infamous gang known for their hiding techniques and their blood-lusted ambitions."

The document, made out of 2 pages, is full of information about the Werewolves and suspected activites during the last few years.

This butler guy has some good points. We don't have much to go on right now, but I think there are five shady characters who aren't with us.

In most cases the butler did it but im not going to vote yet as Louis died from blunt force trauma to the head if barry did it i think he would have poisoned him.

OOC: Ugh! I didn't know it had actually started yet. I was expecting to be tagged in the OP like the last game I was in. So I hadn't been looking for the thread. And then I was away over the weekend.

IC: Alistair Harlequin, a tall young man of about 30 and veteran of the Great War, has been standing by the other passengers, listening to the goings on. He hasn't said much since embarking on the voyage, other than to greet his fellow passengers at dinner previously. But his keen eyes haven't missed much either.

"As Mr. Ponem pointed out, I believe the method of death is worth noting." said the young aviator, stepping forward. "The use of a blunt object indicates his murder was not premeditated, but seems indeed to have been a crime of passion. Perhaps his entry to the room caught the thieves by surprise, causing them to act out of sudden desperation. Clearly, their primary goal was the diamond."

He pauses, thinking through what all has been said, then continues. "Five people seems like an awfully high number of folks to crowd into a room and steal from one lone woman. Clearly, as Mr. Montoya pointed out, they did not view her as a threat otherwise they would have brought a better weapon or perhaps have incapacitated her. Therefore, it is logical to surmise that the 5 individuals in question do not trust each other. After such a valuable prize as this, they likely would slit each other's throats as soon as share the profit. This, in connection to what Shy Guy has revealed, tells us we are likely dealing with a crime ring of some sort, possibly these very 'Werewolves' he mentioned."

Silently gazing around at the various passengers gathered in the hall and Lady Whitehall's room, he took note of their expressions. Any one of them could be a killer. And that was enough to make the blood of this war veteran run cold. Steeling himself for the moment, he turned to the captain. "Sir, what do you recommend we do? Some present," he glances over at Sauron, "have already suggested we start throwing passengers overboard. Is that really what we want to start doing? I have been in the armed forces, and I have seen the stress men come under in the face of war. It doesn't take much for sensible people to break down, for even courageous men to turn and flee for their lives. When an army falls to fear and paranoia, that is how routes begin. If we start turning on each other now and throwing people overboard with so little evidence to go on, it can lead to only one place: panic. And panic is the road to chaos and death."

My fellow passengers, I assure you that I am normally a man to give much thought prior to advocating action of a drastic nature - especially on a voyage so early in length as this. However, the numbers are already daunting against us. If there be 5 nefarious miscreants amongst us, that leaves only 10 of our group worthy of continued life. To do nothing, if bad luck befalls us, guarantees our demise at the hands of Pure Evil at a hastened pace, in three or four days time at best.

So it is that I must accept the counsel of Mr. Tryfan Jones (Sauron) and vote that we tie Echolilia to Louisistan 's "Death Board" and send them both to Davey Jones before the sun sets over the ocean's horizon.

"You know, what Barry more, has a point. The odds are not good on a ship this size. Five of them? If we knew who was who we'd have the advantage, but completely in the dark?" Indigo shakes his head. After a few more minutes of searching, he pauses again. "The three of us, you me and Barrymore, seem to be the ones most interested in investigating this. The captain doesn't even seem all that concerned to be honest. You suggested Echo? So did he... If I had to make a selection already, and sadly it seems our survival might rely on it, I'd have to say Echo is the one to toss overboard. Ai, malo bruja del Andres, I wish this ship had a brig..."

The room is set up a little different to yours, but in this one there is one less roll of carpet, two less candlesticks, one less cabinet of draws, an extra window and around twelve more pairs of shoes. There is also a different style of table and chairs, as well as no lamp.

A quick note, I originally had a different name for the group of bad guys in mind, but after seeing Shy Guy's post I have decided they are now called the Werewolves

After a few hours of investigation, and a light dinner, the passengers had come to a decision. Mr Echo was no doubt a working with the criminals. Three eager passengers grabbed him, and took him downstairs to be locked in the brig. After making sure he was secure, they returned to the dining room.

Lady Whitehall addressed the crowd. 'Quiet please. Well it's all very nice that we've arrested someone for murder, I think you're all forgetting the most important thing. My diamond is still missing!'

The crowd very quickly decided that they should search Mr Echo's room for the diamond, and further evidence of his guilt.

Not everyone was keen to go though. Professor Gold excused himself to head to bed, after which Captain Lazuli also departed to check the ships progress on the bridge.

Mr Violet informed the crowd he would fetch the spare key to Mr Echo's room, and would meet them there. The passengers left the dining room and made their way to Mr Echo's room. After waiting outside for nearly ten minutes, Colonel Burgundy spoke up. "What's taking that man so long? I am going to find him and tell him to hurry up!' The Colonel stormed off. Not two minutes later, Mr Violet returned with the key.

The passengers filed in, and after half an hour of searching no one had found any trace of the diamond or any murder weapon.

'This is simply not good enough.' Lady Penelope said. 'Search harder!'

The passengers went through the room again, but there was nothing. It appeared that Mr Echo was a regular passenger.

'It's getting late, and I think it's best that we all retire for the night. We can continue the search again tomorrow.' suggested Mr Violet.

'Aye,' replied Captain Lazuli, entering the room behind him. 'Though I doubt many of us will be getting much sleep after this tragedy. It'll probably be best if you all make sure you lock your doors tonight. Tomorrow morning we will hold a brief service for Mr Louis before investigating this further. Thank you, and good night.'

'Wait, what about Mr Echo?' one of the passengers asked. 'Shouldn't we let him out?'

'I don't know...' started Mr Violet, before being cut off by the Captain. 'Aye, and I think we may owe him an apology.'

Everyone heads down to the brig, feeling slightly bad for their fellow passenger. However, when the reached the brig Mr Echo was lying flat on the cell floor, with a large knife sticking out of his back. There had been another murder.

Echolilia has been killed, he was a passenger. Night 2 begins now

"Bloody hell!" exclaims Alistair, staring at the body of the unfortunate Mr. Echo. "See? This is what I was arguing against when I said paranoia and overreacting would only lead down a very dangerous road! Nobody gave any evidence against this man at all.* And now he's dead."

He frowns, glancing around at the other passengers. "Wait a minute... who killed him?" The aviator's eyes widen as he considers the events that had just occurred. "We were all in Mr. Echo's room with Lady Penelope searching for her diamond. Who wasn't with us?" His eyes dart around at all the passengers present. "We were all together, weren't we? Who left while we were searching?"

Alistair's mind races back to the events of the evening and the search that had been in vain. "The only people I remember leaving the room were the captain, the colonel, Professor Gold, and Mr. Violet. Could one of them have killed Mr. Echo??"

OOC: * The reasoning given against Echolilia, seems to have been based largely on Barry's OOC post about him being one who didn't create a detailed character. Sauron then took that and voted for Echo without giving anymore reason. Barry then followed with a concurring vote and was backed up by Palman and ponem with his "gut feeling." Very flimsy stuff.

The cell was locked when you arrive, but you can see that the keys for the cells are hanging from a hook on the wall across from them.
