Town of Salem game interest

So, with all the interest our werewolf games have, I was wondering if anyone would consider a forum version of Town of Salem (which is almost the same thing).

I've been thinking about it for a while, but I think I'll see whether people want to try it first. I'd just try the basic mode first, then move on to something more complicated like Rainbow mode later.

I'm hoping for around 10 - 15 people before I try it, and it probably won't be until after WW 50 (or at least my elimination). But anyway, who's in?

Sounds good. I was hoping to host a mafia game, but this is almost identical.

Well, there's two.

While we wait for more, I might as well explain how this will work. Normally in Town of Salem, there's a maximum of fifteen, but I'm gonna allow anyone who wants in to join. I'm going to try Classic Mode first up, because there's less roles and it'll be less complicated (and I can work out the kinks for when I try something more complicated). So, the role list will be this:

1. Sheriff
2. Doctor
3. Investigator
4. Jailor
5. Medium
6. Godfather
7. Framer
8. Executioner
9. Escort
10. Mafioso
11. Lookout
12. Serial Killer
13. [Town Killing]
14. Jester
15. [Random Town]

Town Killing and Random Town will be a random role chosen from a list of possible roles (detailed below). If I get more than fifteen, I'll have a Serial Killer for every ten players, and a random Mafia for every five. Everything else will be town. So, here's the rundown of the roles:

Town
Sheriff: Check one person each night for suspicious activity.
Doctor: Heal one person each night, preventing them from dying.
Investigator: Investigate one person each night for a clue to their role.
Jailor: You may choose one person during the day to jail for the night.
Medium: Speak with all dead people at night.
Escort: Distract someone each night.
Lookout: Watch one person at night to see who visits them.

After that, the following roles MIGHT be used, but not necessarily. Any of these can be a Random Town role, as well as those listed above (with the exception of Jailor and Veteran, and there can't be more than one Mayor or Retributionist), but Veteran and Vigilante can also be Town Killing:

Bodyguard: Sacrifice yourself to protect one person from death at night, killing their attacker and yourself.
Mayor: Gain 3 votes when revealing as Mayor.
Retributionist: Resurrect a Town member from the dead.
Spy: Able to read mafia chat and view who they visit. You may also listen to everyone's whispers.
Transporter: Choose two people to switch places with each other at night.
Veteran: Decide whether or not to be alert during the night.
Vigilante: Choose to take justice in your own hands and shoot someone.

Mafia
Godfather: Kill someone each night.
Framer: Choose one person to frame each night.
Mafioso: Carry out the Godfather's orders.

And if I start putting in other mafia:

Blackmailer: Choose one person each night to blackmail. They will not be able to speak in the morning.
Consigliere: Check one person for their exact role each night.
Consort: Distract someone each night, roleblocking them.
Disguiser: Choose a target to disguise yourself as. You appear as dead and take your target's place.
Forger: Choose a person and rewrite their last will at night.
Janitor: Choose a person to clean each night. Their role and will shows up as blank.

Other
Executioner: Trick the Town into lynching your target.
Serial Killer: Kill someone each night.
Jester: Trick the Town into voting against you.

I'd be willing to give this a go. I've played a decent amount of Town of Salem, mafia, and werewolf in my time. This doesn't seem to have generated much interest so far though.

Everybody has a special part to their roles, there are no vanilla town. It makes everyone's role interesting.

I might put my name down as a WW host, and do it as a WW game. Even though (according to the thread) it might not happen until WW62.

Unless you can generate a ton of interest in the next...say, week or two. Though with the way RL has been going lately...yeah, look, let's see what happens. I'll put my name down for the next available WW game, and try and figure out all the details when I can.
