Hello there! My name is Alkasia, and I am the new Senator for New Republica South. It's an amazing privilege and honour to be able to work with you all.
I'd like to briefly go over my plans for this term. The main focus of my campaign was outreach, so that's what I'm going to focus on for my first term. Participation and activity in our political system has been dwindling recently and I aim to change that, because the more people that participate in our politics and government, the better. My outreach plan will focus on recruiting efforts to new nations and already existing ones, encouraging them to join a political party and get involved. More people means more candidates, more campaigning, and more votes- all which equal more representation.
My first action in this regard has been to send welcome telegrams to new nations encouraging them to join the forums and (specifically) a political party. This is just something to start off with as I get more cohesive ideas and legislation together.
I would also like to make sure we don't have any uncontested elections, but I think more participation and recruitment will help fix that problem.
Also, I will be collecting simple reports from each of the party leaders every two weeks. These reports will be PMed to me, and will consist of recruitment efforts, activity, and anything else you feel the need to mention. It doesn't have to be in-depth, just enough to make sure everything is running smoothly and we don't stagnate. The first of these reports will be due a week from now on January 27th and will continue on every other Friday until I am usurped from this position or I find a better system.
Once again, I am your elected Senator, and as such, my power comes from you all. Those who voted for me- I will not let you down. And those who didn't- I hope to prove you wrong as I work to make this region and its political parties as great as they can be. I work for you all, so please do not hesitate to ask me any questions or tell me any concerns you may have, either on this thread or at my office. I will listen to whatever you have to say and make my decisions based partly off that and off what I think is best for the political system and/or region.
Thank you all, and let's make this region the best it can be!
PS: To make things easier for me in terms of reports and general structure, I would like to ask party leaders to post the leaders of their respective party (themselves and their second-in-command) in this thread and also at the top of their roster on their main party thread. (TIP and WAPP have already taken care of that in their party thread, so they just have to post it in here for clarification.)
