"Welcome back to the test facility. We have good news and bad news," a automated voice rings out just a smidgen too loud. "I know the bad news," Markanite grumbles. "I was hit by a bus." You know how he feels; the room seems to swim and blur around you. Louisistan pukes in the corner. Definitely the worst hang over you're had since Barry's last party.
The voice continues on, unconcerned with the grumbling and moaning rising from the room's citizens. "The good news is that you've all returned successfully from your mission. The islands are safe!" ["Whoopdi-frickin-doo" mutters United Royal Islands .] "The bad news is that a few of you were... infected."
This causes a hush to fall over the room. Aersoldorf and Ater Nox trade uneasy glances. "It seems a few of you have contracted a strain of lycanthropy and, what with the time travel and all, you'll probably change each night even without the full moon around. We've placed you in this post mission quarantine until the infected individuals can be worked out. Who's actually infected seems to be in flux."
A small pedestal rises from the floor to chest height next to Tanzoria , with a small silver rod sticking out of the top. Siuts approaches cautiously pulling up on it, but gasps, dropping it and backing away. The silver dagger clatters noisily to the floor.
"We've provided you with a means of defending yourselves. For the good of the group we recommend you decide who's the most suspicious democratically," the voice continues. "We've assessed that you'll need to break the blade off in a werewolf to kill them, so we'll provide you with a new blade each morning." Tuga Nation's Dragon gulps audibly, unable to tear his eyes from the blade as Sauron looks from Alkasia to Shy Guy to thepeninsular . You know exactly what he's thinking: Can I really kill any of my friends? What if they're wrong and we're all fine?
"Well, you might not remember it, but these were the kind of risks you signed up for when you agreed to join the TITO Time Squad!" [Neutrality United turns to Haganham and mouths "Did she say "Time Squad?"" Mingulay Isle nods, looking bewildered.] "Another side effect is the temporary ability to see possible futures. With any luck a few of you are S.E.E.R.S. and that would help get this sorted out quick." The voice cuts out for the last time and a series of numbers and words light up on three of the walls.
Nate NBNS is the first to speak, "Werewolves: Counted: 4. Killed: 0. Collapsed: 0. What does that mean? I mean, I guess the first two are self-explanatory..."
Silence.
"I suppose collapsed is the number of certain werewolves in the room? Like, once their wavefunction collapses and they are definitel..." begins Dominion of Compassion .
"ENGLISH!" shouts Escade , starting to look a little panicked.
"I- I think he means it counts how many people are definitely werewolves," offers Flemingisa .
"I believe so," adds Lethoica . "There's one for "Unaffected" over here, and "S.E.E.R.S." over there," pointing first to a sign reading 13 0 0 and then to the last, which reads 2 0 0.
For a moment no one speaks, but more than a few eyes look to the silver knife. Some with apprehension. Some with fear. Some with avarice.
RULES:
There are 4 werewolves. They do NOT start the game knowing one another. To win, all other players must be dead. The game does NOT end just because they out number the good guys because they don't know who the other werewolves are and might accidentally turn on one another.
There are 2 seers. When they scan another player, they will learn the odds that player is a werewolf, another seer, or an innocent. There is no official seer's army private message, but the seers are welcome to make one with anyone they decide they can trust.
The remaining 13 players are villagers or "unaffected".
Private messages are allowed, and even encouraged, so long as I am included in the messages.
It is currently the Day Phase. During the day phase you may vote (publicly) to kill any player. The player with the most votes dies at the end of the phase. If there is a tie, I will choose at random (I will probably use the dice rolling function so that everyone knows it was fair). You are not required to vote for anyone and may refuse to vote. However voting "no lynch", that is to say voting to let everyone live will only count on day one.
At night you have 2 choices: target someone to kill or try and scan someone.
If you try to scan someone and you are a seer (which I will determine randomly WHEN YOU TRY TO SCAN AND NOT BEFORE) you will be told the odds of each role for your target. For example, if you scanned someone right now, everyone would have the same result: 21% werewolf, 69% unaffected, 10% seer.
You will notice that I didn't send you roles. I don't know your roles yet. When I find out what role you are, I'll tell you what you are.
Every morning, I will announce who died and I will update the numbers of collapsed and dead members of each group.
Anyone who does not post or message someone for a consecutive day and night will be killed. If someone isn't posting in this game thread, but I haven't killed them, you can assume they must be talking to someone in private.
Day phases will last 48 hours to allow for discussion (however today will be shorter, only 27 hours because there is little to talk about the first day). Night phases will last 24 hours. Day/Night transitions will happen at midnight (24:00 or 00:00:00) UTC. If you are ever not sure what time it is UTC, look here: www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/timezone/utc
I realize this is a very different werewolves game. I will gladly answer any questions about how this works or any clarifications about the rules throughout, because this will probably take a couple phases to get used to.
