Repeal: “Condemn Allied States Of EuroIslanders”

A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Security Council Resolution #73 “Condemn Allied States of EuroIslanders” shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

As time has passed, we should take this time to look back and reassess some of our previous resolutions,

The Security Council,

Recognizing that years ago the region of Allied States Of EuroIslanders was responsible for actions that led to the initial condemnation,

Understanding that due to the the region's steady decline in nations, almost all of the nations that were part of Allied States Of EuroIslanders when the resolution was passed have either left the region and/or ceased to exist,

Remembering that there once was a time when Allied States of EuroIslanders was one of the largest democratic regions and due to bad decisions made by nations no longer in the region that led to the condemnation, the region has lost almost all of it's influence,

Noting that the one remaining nation, Isla Pena, has been responsible in following all rules laid out by the condemnation and the region has been singlehandedly run by Isla Pena for far too long,

Herby repeals Condemn Allied States of EuroIslanders

I am personally against this proposal. It contains at least two very visible spelling errors and during drafting it went against almost every SC norm there is. Instead of drafting it on the SC forum, the author submitted it to the WA and pulled it every time it was marked illegal until they had a legal proposal. Then they went and posted a thread on the NS forum, despite the fact that all that effort could have been avoided by drafting on the forum first.

It is highly irregular to try and get a legal proposal in that way, and something that shouldn't be done. At the same time, there was another draft already on the forum for this purpose that the author totally ignored. I don't like it when people ignore the normal and right way to do things, and I don't like how the author was rude by ignoring the other resolution already in the drafting stage on the forum. So, my personal vote is against.

I might consider the possibility of repeal, but not as a result of this resolution, which really makes no stronger case than 'it happened long ago' and 'no one is left there'. Condemnations happen for a reason, and while this resolution cites a few bad actors, it is a regional responsibility to reign those sort of nations in. Clearly that didn't occur, so the region is rightfully bearing the responsibility. Efforts to tend to blighted ground by the lone, remaining nation seem more frivolous than noble.

This resolution needed time on the SC forum, if for no other reason than to eliminate the mention of a Disney VW Love Bug in the operative clause.
