The People's Republic of Jabberwocky was founded November 4, 2017.
So,as the reader might suspect, we place a high premium on education. That subject will require it's own treatment.
Our Founder and Leader is Sherlock Quixote. It is widely believed that he is a direct descendant of the famous Don Quixote whose adventures were extolled by the equally heralded Miguel Cervantes de Saavedra. Skeptics maintain that the Don was a fictional creation. Traditionalists categorize those skeptics with those who would suggest that Shakespeare's works were actually scribed by Sir Francis Bacon or Christopher Morley. Ultimately, who cares? The important thing is that they were written. By that same logic, does it matter if Lord Sherlock is the actual descendant of the genuine Ingenioso Hidalgo de la Mancha or of a fictional one? It is much more aesthetically pleasing as truth.
People say the world is made for fun and laughter, and so do I!
The People's Republic of Jabberwocky. Our Founder is the esteemed Sherlock Quixote. Citizens known formally as Jabberwockians, informally as Jabs, and in less polite circles as Wocks. We are big on personal freedoms here. We aspire to a Garden of Earthly Delights. This is your life and you do what you want to do, just don't hurt anyone, unless, of course, they ask you.
There is a national obsession with following creative pursuits. Our people are fascinated by music, writing, art. Even in the manufacturing of hard goods necessary for trade, we try to be creative and have fun. Our Founder himself is a multi-instrumentalist and singer with a penchant for writing music. Indeed, there should be an industry devoted to the arts and their export.
As a fledgling nation, we are just learning to crawl in preparation to walk.Soon we will join the larger community.

Our philosophy here will be evident by the fact that more than half our elected officials are women. This is reflected in recent legislation. Sexual discrimination is virtually unheard of in Jabberwocky, doubtless due to the inherent respect we bear each other. Sure, occasionally someone makes an unwanted pass, but that problem is typically cleared up with a simple "NO." Here, no means no , unless prior arrangements have been made. To be continued
Teaching is a subversive activity. As Ralph Waldo Emerson bade us to cast of the dusty tropes of our forefathers, so we approach education. Not only to teach, but to challenge what we have learned. More to follow.
If our citizens don't go for mass accumulations of wealth, it's because, well, what's the point? So you can claim to be richer than the next person? Here, we wonder, what are you going to do with it? After you and your family have seen to their material needs, do you need more? If your business provides comfort to you and your employees, is it necessary to keep getting bigger and bigger? Play an instrument. Write a poem, a play , a novel. Sculpt something. Throw a pot. Grow a garden. Take a hike, a swim. Learn a language. Study a science. Think. Create. So,as the reader might suspect, we place a high premium on education. That subject will require it's own treatment.
